Sure it may not be coming out now but one day it will come back to hunt us. I see it like 3D its been coming and going and now it looks like its here to stay. And besides a 27inch touch screen monitor will be like a supernova of a iphone with less of the frills.

Right now I really want to get an iMac and I plan to get it in the future but if it goes touchscreen that will be it and I wont bother.

All the touchscreen desktops that I've tried...its retarded, it dirties up the display and the cursor movement its never really accurate, its tiring to use, I don't know why would anyone want this and find this appealing....

Not as silly as people say

You know, I thought this was not a great idea either, but I find myself trying to touch the screen on my iMac to make things go quite frequently after getting my iPad. So, now I do not think its that bad of an idea. Could it replace the keyboard and mouse, no - but it would certainly be a great supplement to them.

They should rather put in som esata, fw 1600 and usb 3.0 connections instead of touchscreen.

I think its a stupid idea, I want a larger screen. I thought 27" would be too big but I have dual 20" displays at work and think a 30 or 40 " screen would be cool. I do lots of graphics and photos...

I think it would work out well. Obviously, most people would use the touch feature while the display was virtually parallel to the ground.

Think about it this way: there's a big push building right now for "standing computer desks" because sitting in front of a computer all day isn't good for you. But, standing for most of that time, like at work, solves many of the problems that can develop from sitting the entire time. Your body burns more calories while standing, compared to sitting. So, this flat touch feature would make doing that much easier without being forced to have a standing-only desk, or an expensive standing/sitting desk that can be adjusted for both.

And if you're standing and the screen is below you it prevents a lot (not all) of the "arm-fatigue" that can be problematic.
