This. It sucks this happens every year but hopefully there will be enough inventory for me to get one before the end of the year. If inventory is short and they're not available till next year, a few months later it will be next iphone. Never-ending cycle

Yes, take the time to get it right. But waiting for a huge stockpile just loses more sales to Android, which boasts more and more phones technically superior to the current iPhone. If people know that the new iPhone is in production and what features it has, they are more likely to wait for it than they will be if it is not yet announced.

When the new iphone comes out, I'd like to give my Iphone 4 to my husband and get the new one. He wants to buy an ipod touch instead and keep using his old LG phone.

You can make phone calls with iPhone and it has 3G and IPS and iPod doesnt 🙂
