Before you get the high res, try it out on mail and other applications.

Web browsing is not a problem since you can zoom in but the font size in the other applications was a deal breaker for me. OSX really needs resolution independence.

Note - Many people do not have an issue with the font size but many do (look at all the threads where people swapped out their high res due to font size). My advice is to heavily try out a MacBook Pro before deciding on which one to get.
