I was wondering if there was any possibility of returning the 11 Pro Max Midnight Green for a Silver one, even though I'am passed the 14 days? I just don't like how the midnight green looks, its just too dark, I prefer the Gold or the Silver one.

As soon as 14-day return window pass, Apple will make no exception to your request. Maybe if only one day has passed Apple Store might make an exception, but longer than one day? No chance.

This is my experience with Sydney Apple Store.

Once you are pass the 14 days, you can no longer return/exchange the product. You'll have to either stick with the color you have or sell it and get your money back that way (likely not the full price of course). You could certainly ask the store manager if they can make an exception but no guarantee that they will honor the request.

My experience in the Boston, MA (USA) stores is that they will often make exceptions after fourteen days, sometimes long after. When I’ve had a reasonable reason for the change (phone too big or too small, memory too small) they’ve made exceptions. It helps to ask nicely, too, because they’re under no obligation to do so.

I have had two good experiences in my family over the past couple of years with exchanges after 14 days. One for a MacBook Air, one for an iPhone XR - Apple extended the exchange to 30 days on both cases.
Best to give it a try and see what they say!

It’s at the discretion of the manager. I’ve done exchanges past 14 days. Once I changed from AT&T to Verizon and Verizon won’t accept the unlocked AT&T IMEI #. Second time was several years ago when the product red phone was released.

As others have said- be nice/honest about reason, and doesn't hurt to try a couple different stores if you have them in your area.

I'm sure Apple employees have "heard it all" so if you cause a scene or make up story it's doubtful they'll make an exception. Of course be prepared to be told no but stay optimistic!

Yeah, it won't hurt to ask nicely. If you have more than one Apple Store in your area, try all of them if you get turned down on the first one. There's a chance (not a great chance, but go for it).

My experience with is it will depend on the store. An employee told me it’s officially 14 days but they have gone up to 30 days. My hunch is they will do the swap. luckily I live near 4 Apple stores and if one says no...in any case I have the midnight green but I'm toying with the idea of swapping it with either a silver or gold. My midnight blue Apple leather case makes my phone look funky with the cut out and bottom exposure of the color.

The suggestions to try more than one store if turned down is very good. Since it's at the manager's discretion, you could easily get different answers at different stores.

They're are usually more lenient when it is bought outright as well, as there would be no issues with remaining payments and carrier issues and such...I've gone up to 3 weeks with a paid in full exchange before on an iPhone, the salesman at the Apple store just had it overridden by a manager, and said in the end they just want you to be happy with your purchase. More often than not at the Apple store they are very accommodating IMO.

Possible if it is in 30 days, you need a managers approval though. Just need a valid reason to get it exchanged.

hmm. Based on your guys report, it seems that USA store is slightly more lenient than Sydney store, where I visited three stores near me, none of them accept any form of return past 14 days.

Not true. I've had two friends have their return requested via the customer service chat. Both were a couple of days past the 14 day return window.

Doesn’t hurt to ask, but dont you dare be one of those “I read on the internet _________ “ people. Best option is to sell it and pay for a new one.

I would never consider exchanging my pro Max midnight green. Couldn’t be more satisfied with a phone in my life. I’ve had for 25 days and I’m still just as happy with it

Wait what... I've been to the Sydney Apple Store several times and this store has some of the most cheerful and nicest staff I've ever been served by. I've returned a Watch band that was 4 days past the 14 day period. The Specialist did need a managers approval to override it though but never the less seemed keen to help me through it.

Back to the original topic/question, basically, theres no guarantee they'll do it - you can only ask and hope the manager makes an exception. I would also advise anyone thats purchased a new phone to really look closely at the colour they have and make sure they'll be happy with it for the time to come. If in doubt about one of the more bolder shades - you cannot go wrong with a 'classic' colour such as Silver(11Pro)/White(11) or Black(11)/Space Grey(11Pro). :)

Good luck.

I was on the fence about exchanging my Space Grey for the Green, does it not significantly brighten up in Sunlight? Like, on the camera bump, you really see that green shine, or.?

Thread starter never mentioned from whom, so how would we know the policy?

In general, I found most companies are strict on their return policy unless there’s some extenuating circumstance, or they would have to do it for every other person that asks.

My attempt of swapping 256 GB iPad Pro to 512 GB one quickly hits dead end in Sydney Apple Store seven Days after the return period, right after the iPadOS beta is released.

I was literally going to get Midnight Green as I liked the base colour itself. However, yeah, at the store when suddenly I couldn't decide, a specialist with her own Midnight Green iPhone actually was kind enough to show me what some of the demo leather/silicone case colours looked like on it, I personally wasn't a fan (it really stuck out on Saddle Brown, Midnight Blue eg). And thats how I went with Space Grey, dark enough to be similar to Midnight Green but then the black camera bump also matches with pretty much everything. I'm more than satisfied with it.

If you're on the fence about your midnight green, especially if you like rotating cases - then I personally would recommend you exchange to Silver/Gold while you still can (and not endure the stress of asking post-14days).

How could that be true? Here is absolutely no reason not to ask, and the resolution could be far better in terms of dollars, time and frustration.

Very good point. I think most of us assuming a purchase from Apple. My experience with carriers is that their policies might as well be engraved in stone.

I agree. I paid 1358 after tax for the phone. Gotta be happy with it for at least 12 months
