I am trying to switch my 3g motherboard or logic board w.e with the iphone 3gs. I did everything swaped digitalizer screen and the sound board thing at the bottom which connects the itunes cable and speaker. Swapped those, I broke the screen from the 3gs so I need to buy a new one. But then when I put back together the 3gs it turns on bc I turn the silent off and on and the phone vibrates but I get nothing on the screen just black.. I connected the cables is there something I'm doing wrong. Also I switched the cameras also.
Don't ask why I'm doing this.

Are you trying to use the 3g display on the 3gs?

I agree. I thought I read somewhere about the connections for each type of screen to be different.
    Good luck.

Correct. The screens are different, One is 24-bit, The other is 18bit.

    or something like that

I think you mean 16 bit, I've never heard of an 18 bit screen.

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8H7 Safari/6533.18.5)

It would have been way way way way easier to just replace the broken screen on the 3GS.

What you are doing will NOT work and you have probably screwed up both phones.
