Yeah just rather keep it simple. Beside, all my friends use FaceTime/iMessage. Not going to give it up.
You can do grouping with notifications if you want.
Grouping used to be the only (default) option really until iOS 9.Yup. I've played around with both but I like grouping them. It's neater. My OCD kicks in big time.
How do you do it? Each message from Hangouts show individually and so do a couple of other apps. You can do grouping with notifications if you want.
You can group them by app using notification settings: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/55894/iphone-group-notifications-by-app/How do you do it? Each message from Hangouts show individually and so do a couple of other apps.
Thanks. I saw that and it didn't even cross my mind that that was the setting for the drop down notifications. You can group them by app using notification settings: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/55894/iphone-group-notifications-by-app/
That's what grouping does. Are you looking for some sort of collapsibility of notifications? If so, no, that's not there in iOS. I can see some people wanting that, but not using it that way is certainly far from stupid (plenty of people benefit from seeing each notification rather than having them collapsed).Okay so grouping notifications doesn't work like in Android. Each message shows up as an individual notification in the notifications panel. That's kinda stupid.
So looks like it only groups the apps not the notifications within the same app if there is more than a few apps with notifications.
Yeah collapsing within the grouping and then being able to expand it to view the individual notifications within the group. That's what grouping does. Like I said, it might not be something that's better for everyone, but it's not stupid for some others. There used to be a limit that could be set for each app to only show the most recent few notifications so that things don't get really full, but that doesn't seem to be there as of iOS 9.Yeah collapsing within the grouping and then being able to expand it to view the individual notifications within the group.
I my case it is stupid cause I can go a few hours without being able to check my phone and then I have to keep scrolling which is a waste of time since I get emails from 2 different accounts, Hangouts, Whatsapp, FB Messenger, iMessages and regular sms plus every other app that has notifications.
I don't see such an option unless its not in the Notifications section.Like I said, it might not be something that's better for everyone, but it's not stupid for some others. Which option are you referring to?I don't see such an option unless its not in the Notifications section.
The limit so the notification panel doesn't overflow.Which option are you referring to?
It's no longer there as of iOS 9 as I mentioned. The limit so the notification panel doesn't overflow.
