For a publicly traded corporation I believe Apple has its customers interest at heart. Of course ymmv on all of this. But I also trust what I’ve heard about industry trends. YMMV with all of this.

I trust my own data and experience. YMMV as well and it's all good. If we only had one choice we would all be royally effed. And no conspiracy theory. It's all been proven time and time again that all three major players Google/Apple/MS are only in it for money. That's not up for debate at this point. NONE of them have your best interests at heart. only your wallet.

Of course they’re in it for the money. They’re a company. But two things can be true at the same time: Apple is in it for the money AND they have their users’ best interest at heart. And despite you saying “it’s been proven time and time again” that Apple is in it for the money, in fact we see examples all the time where Apple puts users over profits, some of which I noted above. There are times where they put profits over users too. I’m not saying Apple is some sort of benevolent do-gooder or they’re perfect; far from it.

But I’d argue that it’s a fact that out of the box Apple is more private than the competition, and also a fact that their platform is more secure for end users as seen by malware rates cited all over the internet by independent sources.

It's worth pointing out that even the GrapheneOS devs say that iOS is more private out of the box than Android and these are guys that live and breathe privacy. I've seen them post on X that the options should be iOS or GrapheneOS and no other Android if you care about privacy.
