What? There's no way that's the case considering my account is open, active and I'm making calls from it.

On the phone with CS now to find out what's going on.

EDIT: Okay, Apparently if you were on the AT&T Refer a Friend program BEFORE you got a 3G iPhone, this problem can happen. It has something to do witht he way they renew contracts, according the rep, "it's complicated." Only way to solve the problem is to sign up on the site AGAIN with a new account and start over.

Anyway, for my trouble, the AT&T rep credited my account $25 right then and there, and said the same should happen for the guy whose referral was denied. So, if you're that guy who PMed me, call customer care and let them know what happened! You should get a credit to your account.

scaredpoet...I was wondering what happened. I got an email from them also stating that the person who referred me had cancelled their account so my referral was invalid. I'll try and call them tomorrow and see if I can get my $25.00 credit. Thanks for the update!

I did my 5 referrals on the iPhone release date, and in the past couple of days I've started to get e-mail verifications from AT&T that my $25 rewards are in the mail!! 😀

Yes. From AT&T:
What are the eligibility requirements for the Refer-A-Friend program?
Referrer: To be eligible to earn a referral reward you must have service on a qualifying rate plan of $9.99 per month or higher, and be a registered member of the referral program or become one within a maximum of 2 weeks after your referee's service activation date.

Referee: To be eligible to receive a referral reward you must activate service on a qualifying rate plan of $39.99 per month or higher. You must also register for the referral program within a maximum of 1 month after your service activation date. Please note that if you have a family plan only the primary line (valued at $39.99 or higher) is eligible for a referral reward.

Has anyone received their $25? I just received an email stating that my reward was denied because the person I referred activated a rate plan that is below $39.99 a month. This person activated an iPhone 3G!
 
well this sucks... got an email from AT&T saying I didn't qualify for the referral program because the person that referred me from this thread apparently didn't activate their service until July 13th, 2 days after me 😡

I received my email notice a few days ago that I will be getting my $25.00 gift card in 4-6 weeks.
