Google has a trade-in promotion for the new Pixle 3A, iPhone 6 will have a 240 dollars credit, will you go?
plus a 100 GC for google shop

I've never once owned an android device (well except my Kindle Fire). I definitely have a curiosity to get one just to play with it. Seems like such a good phone at such a good price. However, I am way too entrenched in the Apple ecosystem to imagine myself switching over permanently at the present time. I have a Series 4 Apple Watch, AirPods 2, iPad Pro 9.7, and an older MacBook Air. It's the Apple Watch (which I love) in particular which would make it nearly impossible to switch... but like I said it's tempting...

Same here ....

I can tell you straight up the camera is leagues better than the latest iPhone. I had the regular 3. BUT not have an iPhone caused a lot of friction with family members and I ultimately switched back - plus 4 GB of ram on an android device isn’t enough and the apps are not as good. Plus - iMessage.

Definitely compelling for those on an older 6. Personally, I love the apple ecosystem too much to switch. I used to flip/flop between android and apple but stuck with apple due to the polished software.

For me it’s the AirPods. I know they still work on android but it’s not the same.

Man, that is so true. The friction I am getting from friends and family member is grueling!

I would consider. This is why I don’t get trapped in Apple’s walled garden. I use both iOS and Android. I have an iPhone X and an AW4. I also have a Samsung Note 8, Gear S3 Classic and Frontier.

Do you use all these phones at the same time? How does that work?

I've been waiting for my carrier (T-Mobile) to offer the Pixel (whatever model). I could get a free 3a (based on bill credits) but I'm angling for the regular 3 XL. Now that T-Mobile offers it I just need to come up with the money for the downpayment on the EIP.

Hopefully that happens this year. It'll be four years on a 6s and 6s+ by that point.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to preorder this phone.

The pixel 3 was plagued with various hardware/software issues. Maybe it would be a good idea to wait and see if google managed to iron those out with the 3a.

How many of them have you used?

Pixel 2 was plagued with issues as well.

Google can’t do hardware they are bad at it.

I do not recommend buying ANY Google device!
Other than the usual "Google is spying on me and selling my information/data" aspect, why not?

It's one of the few devices where you can get straight up, unadulterated Android with regular updates (not dependent on your carrier) without crapware or bloatware or manufacturer integrated software.

If I weren't so entrenched in the Apple ecosystem, the 3A would be very tempting for me. Heck, the S10e is even appealing. Were it not for me loving my Apple Watch, I could probably get away with an Android phone with the rest of my iDevices (iPad Pro, AirPods, ATV's, MacBook).

I have AirPods, iPad and Apple TV 4k and use my Pixel 2 XL 99% of the time compared to my XR. When I had the Apple Watch S4 I didn't have the choice so I understand where you are coming from.

If you have T-mobile you can trade in a pixel 1 and get the Pixel 3a for free (you pay taxes only). You can buy a pixel 1 on eBay for around $90. I did just this and the 3a will be a nice addition to use alongside my iPhone Xr. In the end a new Pixel 3a will cost me around $100.

I'm thinking about it as a 2nd device to use when I get the Android itch. Small investment really and you get a great camera. That way I can spend a little dough and have a device that can suffice my 2 week itch.

Honestly, I need to know that Pixel won't be plagued with the inevitable Android slowdown issues. The OS rot is real.

That being said, it will probably be better to have longer term than a Samsung advice due to the software updates.

And that price is insane...with a better screen and camera than the $750 iPhone XR

This. I say all the time, if it wasn't for my Apple Watch, I would go. Its just the AW is leaps and bounds ahead of every other smart watch.

Crazy how Apple Watch went from a WTF item to a must have keep us in the ecosystem item.

Exactly. Had this been when the S0 Watch was released, I'd have no problems switching to Android. Now? Not so much. I'll wait until September to see what Apple announces. Obviously I prefer and will probably stick with my Xs, even if this year's iPhone's don't interest me.
