The part that still confuses me about your situation is why you aren;t comparing TMO's smaller data plan with Sprint's 6GB. Their 6GB plan is $65. Is that not eligible for the $20 off that your friend is able to give you? If it is, seems to me, that is cheaper.

You seem to just want the cheapest plan and what we've tried to do here is break down what can possibly be the cheapest. You haven;t yet mentioned why you went with unlimited on tmobile but could live with 6GB on sprint. I imagine you could live with the same 6GB on tmobile, unless I am missing something.

The 6GB plan on T-Mobile is only $15 cheaper than what I am paying now. Sprint's total bill would be $32.50 a month for 6GB of data, plus my EIP.

Ah you are referring to their "cut your plan in half deal right? Good plan. Seems like a roughly $12 a month savings there in your case :)

The 6GB of data you use...what's it for? I assume you're not counting any of the Music freedom or Binge On perks, right? The data tiers are for access to fast internet but you technically have unlimited data - it would just slow down after your 6gb. Or 2gb if you are able to go down to that. If WiFi Calling, free roaming and the music & video streaming stuff isn't anything you use, then the savings on moving to Sprint is worth considering.

When I chose the plan on their website along with my device, my total monthly payment including my EIP was just under $60.

With T-Mobile I am paying $100.

I just switched from T-mobile to Sprint a few days ago. Main reason being my job no longer offers the corporate discount on T-mobile but still does with Sprint. I had Sprint a few years ago and they were terrible but honestly they have gotten alot better, at least in NYC where I am. Internet speeds have greatly increased, still not as fast as T-mobile but fast enough to get whatever you need done. As far as coverage its slightly better than T-mobile. I get service in certain train stations and in the basement of my house where T-mobile had no service at all. So all in all T-mobile does have faster LTE but overall coverage I think Sprint is slightly better.

I've used Sprint & T-Mobile before but am back on AT&T right now until T-Mo gets their 700mhz spectrum deployed here in Idaho.

I'm totally done with Sprint though. It's such a hassle in comparison to normal GSM operations where you can switch devices/SIMs around basically at will.

Are their EIP cheaper than what you're currently paying? The comparable plan itself should be $45 on tmobile after your discount, which is what I used for my math.

Keep in mind you'll have to pay off your tmobile EIP as well when you switch.

I want to clarify some things. I usually upgrade my phone once a year when the new iPhone comes out, so I don't need 3 phones per year.

My $20 monthly discount would only apply to T-Mobile since that's what my boss has and he was able to give me that same discount.

My monthly bill with T-Mobile for unlimited data including my EIP and AFTER my $20 discount is still $100.

With Sprint, I would switch from my 6S Plus to the 6S. My bill for 6GB of data (which is all I really need) would be $60, saving me about $40 a month. So I'm still saving more with Sprint, despite not having the $20 discount through my job.

I guess I'm still trying to decide if the $40 in savings is worth the switch. I'm starting to think it might be...

With the exception of yesterday sprint has been fairly good for me in terms of coverage ( phone calls and text) and data coverage ( traveling I had some issues but sprint doesn't have the amount of coverage as verizon and AT&T and I knew that) and data speeds are decent. Yesterday I had phone coverage cut off most of the day but that was once in the whole year I had them. Honestly the money I'm saving and the decent speeds is good enough

not that big of a deal imo for me at least. I also don't switch phones that much to make it a big hassle. With iPhone all you need to do is put In the sim no?

I would get the 6s as opposed to my 6s plus, which is a couple of dollars cheaper. I have unlimited data with T-Mobile. I only really need 6, and T Mobile's 6 GB plan is only $15 less than what I'm paying for unlimited ($30 as opposed to $15).

Right. I was just comparing what you're paying for unlimited (minus $20) to what the 6gb current plan costs (minus $20).

In any case it sounds like you know what you want. All that's left is to pull the trigger. Good luck.

T-Mobile by far. I had both Sprint and TMO. Sprint will kill you, literally. They'll sell you a phone you can't even use, their service is so bad.

Had sprint for 7 years, sacked bad and made excuses. Switched to metro pcs and night and day, now I'll be going to tmobile with there 2 lines/10gb each plan for $100. I did give sprint another shot, went to store and had a employee run a speed test and it was horrible. Still signed up, got 1-2 mbps where I get 12-20 with metro. Cancelled sprint again 2 days later, biggest ordeal ever, numerous calls as well and they just lie. Even got a bill for like $10 when I was told I had a $0 balance.
