Synch iPhone to new Mac

So I was saying, I put 2 contacts in my mac address book.
But about that rearranging thingy, I still can't do it.
Do I have to press the sync apps button ? Will it only synch apps and not whole thing?

When you check sync apps, it just makes the apps available for syncing and will allow you to move them around. It wont sync until you hit apply or sync. Make sure that you have made all the correct selections in thew various tabs, especially the info and summary tab. Select the correct place to sync contacts and calendars, etc...Then arrange your apps and let er rip.:D
 
If you have it checked like this, it will sync to your Mac address book.

I usually don't let it sync the email accounts. I prefer to put those in manually, and it's not necessary if you a;ready have it set up, so uncheck that.
Do you need help with your music and photo settings?
 
Well music I put everything in the library itunes with a program that extracted it form the iphone, and my pictures are also transferred on my mac.

I prefer to select myself which music goes inside the iphone, so is it okay if I don't check sync for this? I never synched automatically before as I don't like that.
For the pictures can I put only the ones I like later on, thus not synching automatically right now ?

That's fine, you can select "manually manage music and videos" on the summary page, and then you can drag and drop your music into your phone.

Yes...you can select the photo albums that you want to have on you phone, now or later, doesn't matter.

Check your apps one more time to see if they are still arranged correctly. They might have reverted if you made changes after you fixed them the first time. Once you are satisfied with the app positions, it's okay to sync. if you want to manually copy your contacts, you can, but I have never done that.
 
Oh I see.

Just I pressed synch and now it is asking me either to Cancel or Erase and sync.

It doesn't ask about my contacts though to merge. Should it ask later on then ?

I selected erase and sync… will tell you how its going on =/

EDIT : Oh never mind, it asked :p
 
Oh James, I love you :D

It worked, everything is back on even the call history.
I just have to put all the music back into it :cool:
 
Haha thank you again for answering all my questions, just didn't want to mess this up.
