Synology -> which one to buy?

My honest advice would be to wait!
The new 2013 models are just around the corner. In fact they have been provided to journalists and reviewers to begin reviewing etc already! I have been offered the new units, but Ive just been too busy to review them at the moment!

Give it another month and you'll see the new units, with upgraded CPUs and features etc

I'm in the market for a NAS too and guess I'll wait. In the meantime I'll just get a couple new drives into my CalDigit box.

I'm going to buy a DS212J (onsale on amazon) or the DS213 today

I have a DS212+ and it's awesome. I used to have a DS210j and it was okay, but a little slow.

I only wish I had an intel processor to do Plex transcoding, but oh well. I get 115MB/s with the drives in a RAID 0 (WD Green).

Just bought DS213. Love it so far, 2 3TB drives in it

Just dumped my Synology 212j for the new ReadyNAS 102 from Netgear. Their new OS 6 software is very good, especially running a remote Time Machine back to the NAS.

Nothing wrong with Synology, just wanted to go in a new direction.
