Hi, when I go to System Preferences to view disk usage, nothing shows up under System Data, and the spinning wheel under “Calculating...” just keeps spinning and spinning but never finishes.

Is there anyone who can tell me what is wrong?

Hiya, there are plenty of suggestions to fix this problem in various forums.
The Apple forum and Reddit are just two among others. Good luck.

My experience...

Don't bother with this. The "info" that you'll get (even if it works) is probably unreliable, anyway.

I just opened system settings, picked "storage", and as you can see, it just keeps "calculating", as well:

Thx. I was searching and trying hints from Reddit ans Apple forums as far as I could find some. So dis- and reenable TM, Photos library... without success.

The permanent calculating is irritating me...but does not use any CPU. Maybe you are alright with ignoring.

If the OP is like me, seeing that displayed forever spinning wheel instead of what is expected will have a bout of OCD and will find it annoying every time.

This is what is displayed on my Mac mini M4 after calculating is done which in my opinion is more accepted whether incorrect or correct, just saying.

Ok, i have found the solution. It was a TV-app library which caused the problem.
