So glad I didn't buy the ring yesterday! I mean I still plan on it but I would have had a horrible night cursing up a storm thinking I either did something wrong or had a product I had to take apart and return. I was going to go Home Depot and get that and one of the smart locks or keypad locks. Today there is ice everywhere so may just wait till the ring is fixed and I'll go get both on a day i have time to install them.

The ring is great.
It's T-Mobile that screwed up and rendered many apps useless over their carrier data network.

Same issue with me. I thought I was going crazy and it was a port forwarding issue or something on my router. Didn't realize updating to 10.2 would break my ring over cellular

It is not only Ring , there are many other services. All of us should contact T-mobile and ask for a fix. Only together we are the power. I hope T-mobile gives us a fix sooner than later.

To be honest I'm "happy" that big service like Ring doesn't work , it makes T-mobile to "slowcoock" faster :)

To be honest I'm really upset that I jumped Att ship.

I don't have twitter but should I bother calling tech support. They'll probably have no idea what I'm talking about and blame the app.
I just got off the phone with Tmobile, transferred to higher up tech support.
The person at the call center and her supervisor were not aware of the issue.
They documented and passed it down. I also talked to Ring Tech support and told them to contact Tmobile to get it resolved because its effecting many of their customers also.
Hope Tmobile gets it fixed soon.

Haha I got the keypad lock 2 weeks ago and then the ring last week. I was out of town immediately after the ring installation, so I got back 3 days later and had also updated to iOS 10.2. I spent forever trouble shooting thinking I did something wrong

I contacted Ring a couple of days ago, after TMobile said they don't guarantee 3rd party apps will work on their service, and Ring acknowledged there's a problem on both ends and offered me free Chime Pro for my troubles

I did the same thing. I bought a new eero network around the time I updated to 10.2 and thought it was eero system. Found out that eero has great customer support.

Sorry for offtop:
May I ask you, do you still like T-mobile in the area?
I've just jumped out of Att and I have mixed feelings. The only thing I know I really like , my saving are equals to 1/2 week of all inclusive vacation in 4+ star hotel :) Plus I got my gas yesterday at 1.09 per gallon premium, saving 23.20 dollars compare to Costco.

Yes, I switched back in February.
I love my family plan, the price and features are awesome and coverage and data speeds are great.
I pay $180 a month for 5 lines with unlimited everything with 14GB's Mobile hotspot for each line.

I agree, TMO is great, unless you are inside which was recently "fixed" by wifi calling. Reason I am posting though is I will have to call them am renegotiate our deal because right now we have 2 phones unlimited everything on the Jump thing where I can update ever year and we are paying like 180 with taxes and all.

EDIT: Oh yeah the reason I came back into the thread, I take this isn't fixed? I really want to go get one while there is a sale on them at best buy, 20 bucks off only now. Costco had them for alike 50 off for a bit, I'll have to check there first actually.... But yeah I kinda need it working before I spend the cash.

My price above is without any phone payments or jump or EIP.
Those will obviously add more to your bill.
Usually the sweet spot is if you have 4-5 lines on a family plan. They had lots of deals with get the 4th line free etc. 1 or 2 lines are not always as good of a deal.

that makes sense. I love that every year I walk into the local tmobile that is in a mall no one really goes to and trade in my "old" phone for the new model on launch day. No calls, no lines, just about 30 minutes of processing and activating and I am done.

Edit: go get the new update for the Ring app! As far as I can tell, not fixed on 10.2 as of this morning (works fine on wifi, of course). I'd still buy it if it's on sale, with the caveat that you do so from somewhere that has a 30 day (or more) return policy in case TMo/Ring don't get their acts together and figure this out soon.

We went with the Ring Stick Up Cam rather than the doorbell, and love it. I'm still debating whether to downgrade back to 10.1.1 or not, it's just a hassle I don't need right now and at the moment, I rarely have to use the Ring when away from home (for us, it's mostly there to chase off solicitors).

Awesome. Maybe I can go back to 10.2 now lol.

I guess it's worth the headache sometimes. We pay $153.33 for 5 lines unlimited everything and a 6th tablet line with unlimited text and data. 3 iPhone 7's are free from Black Friday, and that 6th tablet line is free along with a free Samsung tablet. We don't pay for any devices, it's all bill credited.

Wow that is a good deal. I pay $180 for 5 lines unlimited everything with 14GB tethering for each line. No tablets.

Yeah we have TMobile One and 1 line was free. They offered a free 2nd line for pre Black Friday so we used it for a tablet line. Also with that deal was a free tablet. Then on Black Friday, 3 of the lines upgraded to free iPhone 7's with trade ins. They each paid $300 ish for taxes and upgrading to 128GB phones. My work also gets a 15% discount per month. It's definitely not as fast as ATT (especially instagram). We gave up 4 unlimited data plans and a 3GB plan with ATT cuz our bill there was $310 every month. Just mad we bought 2 iPhone 7's with ATT instead of getting them free from TMobile

This is definitely not just the Ring app, I have a YI home camera and after the ios 10.2 update I couldn't connect to it unless on wifi. I rolled back to 10.1.1 and it worked fine, I assumed it was an app issue until reading this and one other thread. The app developer responded that they could not fix it as it is working on their end, so it seems it is a specific tmobile issue.
[doublepost=1482496307][/doublepost]This is the reply I received when I contacted tmobiles customer service:

Upon checking with our Technical Team they have receive known issue about the 10.2 where some customers are not able to use their data services even while connected to an LTE network.

For now there is no information on when the next update would be available for download but you can place your mind at ease as they know about the LTE issue and there should be a fix soon.

Im sure they can fix the issue. Ring was able to fix it with an app update

Same story with Piper camera. It is DNS routing problem. It can be fixed either with T-mobile developers or with apps developers.

just stumbled across this thread after hours of searching to try and find out why I couldn't access my IPCameras when on mobile network. Works fine on Wi-Fi obviously, I was investigating port forwarding, and bandwidth etc etc...at least I know that there's a problem and it's not just me

Using DSCam to connect to Surveillance Station on Synology NAS btw.
