I think its odd for cellular carriers to sell a watch, I don't get this move.

Seems like a desperate move by apple to increase sales. I can see bestbuy selling apple watches, it fits within their product line up. While a AW can be considered an extension of the iPhone, its not a phone. I think Apple would be better off not trying to push this on to carrier shelves.
I've said from the beginning that the watch is just a iPhone accessory and now that's what they are selling it as. So this to me makes perfect sense.

Still waiting for the cost of these watches to come down.

I doubt that they will anytime soon (or ever) but I personally just don't have a need for a watch that is tied to my phone.

Was wondering why none of the carrier's offered the ability to purchase Apple Watch on their website. At least now if someone wants the Apple Watch sport, they'll be able to pay for it monthly instead of paying $400 up front.

Hmm...have you paid attention to Apple products since their inception? They don't go down in price. The only time they "do" is when the newer, faster, thinner model comes out.

Yes...which is why I said I doubt that they will.

Doesn't change the fact that for what the watch can do, it is priced too high for me personally.

Well, the shine of a fine watch is just evaporating - now it is what it is - a gadget made in Taiwan. I mean I always go to a phone store to buy a dress watch.

I don't really understand the desire for a watch independent from a phone. Consumers are piling on devices onto tiered data plans, another connected device with a line access fee would be a hassle. I personally appreciate not worrying about it with the current model. I don't mind piggy-backing off of my iPhone, I just can't wait for OS 2 to allow native apps. It'll make a useful product infinitely more useful

I saw an apple watch finally at one of my local best buys. Got to play with it. Not sure how'd I'd really use it at this point. I've only seen 1 person wearing it in the wild (basically to track his steps, etc).

Maybe WatchOS 2 will finally make the watch useful. As it stands, I still don't see the point. Its a toy.

Its a watch.

It's hardly desperate if they have about 80 percent of the smart watch market if projections are accurate. It seems more about reach. Apple Stores are sparse across the country as a whole.

Yes me too but I get a bonus from my job October 1 (almost forgot about it lol)so I will most likely get the Gold Apple Watch with blue band to match my gold 6s+ with midnight blue leather case
I'm seriously trying to figure out which leather case to get with my 6S Plus. It's tough, I keep going back and forth between the new Saddle brown, midnight blue, and black. Lol, I might be going caseless for a while since i can't make a decision.

That I'll agree with. I do want the watch, but don't need it. Keeps you from looking at your phone, yes. But then you're just looking at something else which is, at the moment, more social acceptable. But once everyone has one, it'll be rude again. HOWEVER the health benefits would be awesome as I'm a twice a day gym kinda guy.

I don't see it as being that odd. It's an accessory for a cellular device, akin to headphones, cases, and BT devices. It's a chance to upsell, increase revenue, and get people in the stores who may not have had another reason to be there.

Glad to see the demand is strong and more and more places are starting to offer it. The Apple Watch has quickly grown to be one of my favorite Apple devices.

What do you like and dislike about it? Not judging or criticizing, I've been on the fence about buying one and I'm curious what your perspective is as a user.

We sell the Gear S at T-Mobile already. Not surprised Apple would be interested in offering an alternative right in the same store. :)

this is actually really tempting if true, i'd be more than happy to put a Watch on EIP at T-Mobile. wonder if they'll make a proper announcement beforehand so stores actually know what the hell is going on

My likes:
SILENT NOTIFICATIONS- This is the major one. My iPhone and Watch volume are off and vibrate is turned off on my iPhone. All notifications come to my Watch in a non-disruptive way. Sure, this may be a convenience, but once you have it you don't want to go back. I would honestly hate to go back to just leaving my ringer on and running to check my phone every time I hear it make a sound. Especially true if it's charging in another room. I haven't heard a notification sound since I got my Watch in May and it's been amazing. You also feel less obligated to respond to every notification on your Watch. You end up doing a lot more filtering and controlling what you react to and when. Notifications on the wrist are totally underrated by many, but so amazing if done correctly.

APPLE PAY- Let's be real, Apple Pay on the phone is as convenient as taking a wallet out of your pocket. It doesn't save much time. I never used Apple Pay until I got my Watch. I use it all the time now. Having it on your wrist and not having to reach into your pocket to retrieve anything make you much more likely to get in the habit of using it.

THIRD PARTY APPS NOT NEEDED FOR NOTIFICATIONS- I get my forum quotes and likes from tapatalk pushed to my Watch. Mind you, there is no tapatalk watch app in existence. You can get notifications on your watch from any app already installed on your iPhone without having to have a watch companion app. I get notifications from gmail, facebook, tapatalk, dating sites, etc. I have no third party apps installed on my watch at all. 100% stock. Many people don't realize this.

WATCH BANDS- I love the customization. I own many third party bands including some replicas of Apple's bands. I love switching it up daily.

WORKOUT- Are you an active person? I really wasn't before getting my watch. I jog 3 miles a day now. Why? I really don't know. But it's a really great activity tracker and such a pleasure to use. "Hey siri, start a 45 minute indoor run!"

I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting

My Dislikes:
Speaker volume on phone calls- The speaker is crap, I have a difficult time hearing someone on the other end when I'm alone in a quiet house. On the bright side, they hear me crystal clear...

Can also be a little laggy loading things sometimes. Needs to be a bit more buttery smooth. But it'll come with time.

I can see why it's difficult for people to fully understand the usefulness of the Watch if they don't own one. Honestly, my first couple of weeks with it I was still questioning my purchase. It wasn't immediate love for me. But once I used it more and more and customized it to my likeness, it grew onto me in ways I never thought possible. I look forward to what the future has in store for this product.

I know this sounds corny as hell, but it really is the most personal product Apple has ever made. Since you wear it you end up looking at it more times in the day than you do any other one of your Apple products, and not because it's pretty, but because it's incredibly useful...

Oh, and having live stocks and weather as complications on your Watch face is incredible. It's all the little things, man.

An Apple Watch on sprint? I can only imagine how they'll sell it to the customer.

Sure sir, you can get this Apple Watch...just pay the $85,000 down payment and its all yours. And if out system happens to crash after you submit your payment, don't worry. You'll just pay us another $85,000 dollars and you'll be all set.

Thank you! That's actually really helpful. I've heard the biggest draw is actually the notifications, which I wouldn't have guessed would be such a big deal. And I've also heard that the workout stuff is pretty good at kind of pestering you to at least be a little more active (stand up more often, go on walks, things like that- and I'm not inactive per se, but I could do with being more active). But your point about not being quite so latched to your devices (ironically, given that one is latched to your wrist to accomplish this) makes a lot of sense. I think I'm going to do a 42" black Sport Watch. I thought about doing one of the steel ones, but given that they look exactly the same and I'm not really that hard on my devices, there wouldn't be much advantage to spending the extra couple hundred bucks when I could just buy wrist straps later if I want to change it up, as you pointed out.

That being said, I may hold off until there's an update to the internals. I don't see myself answering calls on it that much, but I wouldn't want to deal with a lousy speaker if I do.

Much appreciated. :)

By Christmas they'll be selling it at WalMart and 7-11.

I would agree, but 7-11 seems to be paranoid about people stealing cigarettes. Imagine what they'd do with Apple Watches.

"I heard you sell the Apple Watch."

"We do. They're in a safe in a bulletproof truck parked behind the building. I'll ask my manager if they can open it, but we might have to wait until the General Manager comes in."
