Bingo. T-Mobile seems to be a master at marketing... and the consumers are eating up this non-sense.

Well actually, their free audio streaming is great. I stream a whole lot of music, and it's nice that it doesn't count towards my non-existent data cap. When I had a cap it was even better.

As with any carrier YMMV.

This.

Can anyone explain me why would anyone care about YouTube?

The one good thing they have, are some motoring channels, like Jay Leno's, Xcar, etc...
While I admit that there is a lot of trash on youtube (such is the nature of things when you provide an open platform for anybody to upload virtually anything they want), there are a lot of decent quality videos probably in all genres.

My two year old loves to watch educational videos in both English and Hungarian, Hungarian being the one that specifically interests me since that is much more difficult for me to find through other venues here in the states. I have also used it for visual aid when working on repairing circuit boards, modding consoles, etc. Most recently I used it to watch a quick unboxing of a Rudolph themed train since I wanted to put it back into its original box after christmas and the way they package things requires a PHD in engineering lol.

Anyway, my point is, there absolutely it quality content on youtube, but you probably won;t find it if you just search trending or popular videos (same as you probably won't find many quality news articles suggested to you on facebook). Of course, you can spend the time susbcribing to the proper networks so that other (likely) quality feeds come to your attention.

Anyway, this is longer than I intended it to be. My point was, no everything on YouTube is crap and some of it is actually worth watching in the highest quality possible.

If you don't mind me asking what are Hungarian educational videos your kids watch? I learned some in college, but haven't touched it much since then. It would be nice to regain my childlike understanding of the language. It's really hard to find Hungarian anything. I bought some Hungarian Richard Scary books, but they aren't exactly pocket friendly.

I do not have a hungarian keyboard on my mac, but it shouldn't matter for the purpose of this response.

Here are some searches you can do on youtube...

magyar gyerekdalok
kerekmesek
karacsonyi dalok gyerekeknek (played these a lot for christmas)

If you want them to be one long video or playlist you can add "egybefuzve" to your search.
The more you like or favorite or heart or whatever youtube calls it the better suggestions you get. My phone pretty much only gives me hungarian kid song recommendations now lol.

Also, Teszvesz Varos is an awesome series. I have fond memories of that series as a kid. Mom read one of those to me nightly as a kid.

EDIT: DO NOT MISS the Bogyo es Baboca series. Kid loves it and it's a nice way to listen in and learn some Hungarian. It's a cute little story too! The entire Channel is quality, to be honest. It is put on by KEDD Network and should be another great place for your to listen in and practice the language.

RIP Net Neutrality

Net neutrality, as done by the FCC, is complete ********; even the preamble is full of falsehoods. If anything, it shows the FCC knows how to harness the power of internet stupid for political gain.

Most people never bothered to read it, which is what the FCC wanted. If you believed the internet, you'd think it was in response to Netflix slowdowns. It wasn't; the FCC has been trying to enact this crap for at least a decade.

Don't like it go OPT-OUT the time you spent crying about it you would have been done. Next some of us don't have "unlimited" data so it is a nice option. Not sure why Youtube is so bitchy about it when they could have just had an adult conversation with T-Mobile to address the issue.

They can't opt-out because they don't even use Tmobile lol.

Probably.

I personally like what T-Mobile is doing. I stream music ALL the time WITHOUT using data. Hows that work on other carriers again? Couldn't image not having Music Freedom. My signal on all the areas I travel too is perfect, no dropped calls EVER. Oh and its fast too.

No one is saying it's not a good program, we are saying it should have been opt-in. Some people don't mind low quality video that uses less data, but then again you could do this manually in the YouTube app all along. The problem is people on unlimited or who care about video quality, suddenly had their quality change to 480p without any notice.
Who Alphabet Inc.? I thought YouTube is owned by Google Inc.?
No, it's owned by Alphabet Inc.

Why should I have to opt-in can't you just opt-out? My guess is more people are in the out, so YOU opt-out.

Because most people don't know this is even a thing, and those that do aren't aware you can opt out. T-Mobile is just hoping most people are too clueless to realize that videos are low quality now because of bingeon, and therefore won't opt out.

Man I'll be glad when the T-Mobile love affair is over. People acting like they (and Legere) are some sort of Robin Hood in the industry. Please, the guy is a tool and the moment they start getting enough customers to compete with AT&T and Verizon, he'll follow in their footsteps. He'll, they've lready jacked up unlimited data. Just a matter of time before it's gone.
T-Maybe is the Bernie Sanders of the cellphone industry.

You really think the person who doesn't know he can opt-out of something can tell the difference in video quality on a 5" screen? I've seen the images of the comparison between binge-on on and off and I can't tell the difference.

I certainly do. Look all over the many blogs reporting this, tons of people commenting saying things like "I was wondering my YouTube looked like crap and buffered constantly, turning this off fixed it for me". Most people just chock it up to either YouTube or T-Mobile sucking, and don't do any research into why, but they can certainly tell the difference.

So if it was a option to turn on how would people find out about it?

Free text message to users, pop up on their account online, social media, advertising. Just like how Verizon has opt in for their VoLTE and didn't enable it for everyone. Its something where if you want data while on a call, or better quality calling, you can enable it.

Why would they want to advertise negative publicity about their video streaming now being low quality? They want to keep it as quiet as possible, which is the problem.

The fact that you would root for someone you call Big Brother is scary.

The fact you thought the use of the term "Big Brother" was in any way serious and not sarcasm is well... I'd say it but safe bet mods would get on my case...

Let's just say if you thought the use of that term was serious that's sad and yet laughable...

100% this. I used to want T-Mobile to succeed, and no offense to Apple, but they have a following just as bad as Apple where people praise them for everything the CEO says and follows them blindly, thinking they are God's gift to this Earth.

T-Mobile's following has, indeed, become extremely cult-like. Their fans (fans of a utility provider...let that sink in for a second) jump on anyone who dares to say anything even remotely critical about T-Mobile, as evidenced by the comment on your response to my post, and really do buy into everything John Legere feeds them. Over at the T-Mobile fanboy blog (not mentioning their name), they were praising John Legere's skywriting stunts over Verizon and AT&T headquarters as brilliant. However, when Sprint did something similar by sending holiday gift baskets to T-Mobile stores, they were immediately condemned for a lame attempt to get attention. There's actually one guy on that blog that ends every comment with "thank you T-Mobile, thank you John Legere." I kid you not.

My liking of something don't prove anything.

I can tell the world is just here to serve YOU and if its another way then it should be changed to what serves YOU best. Glad we are all here to make YOUR life SO much better.

BTW I'm also convinced you don't have T-Mobile and your just trolling.

Your behavior is that of a typical troll/fanboy. You immediately attack another forum member when he/she makes a comment critical of something to which you are attached and resort to ad hominem attacks when called out on it.
