You pay the full price UP FRONT, then over 2 years, they pay you back the value you paid.
Only downfall is, if you want to upgrade NEXT year to the next model, you're basically screwed. That is why Im going the Apple Upgrade Program route.

No, you sign the EIP and the monthly amount due per the EIP shows up on the bill along with a credit every month for the next 24 months. You have to stay with T-mobile the full 24 months or the remaining payments are due.

Both Verizon and AT&T have instituted matching programs using bill credits to keep you tied to them.

There is NO pre-payment required. Models beyond the base iPhone 7 require additional payments . Max credits over 24 months=$649 on T-Mobile.

Have anyone trade in this yet successfully without being on TMobile One Plan yet? Because I'm so confused. Some say that you do, and other say you don't.

I also just look at their website, and they make it pretty clear you have to be on TMobile One Plan to be eligible.

[doublepost=1474214162][/doublepost]Well just contacted TMobile Customer Services and they did change the Promotion to only TMobile ONE plan only now. This is a good deal if you are currently on the ONE plan, but you better off buying the iPhone 7 itself for cheaper if you are not.

Correct, you need the One plan if you order now. However, if you pre ordered before the 15th, you are not required to move to the One plan.

The "free iPhone 7" is a complete scam. Ordered the 7 on the first day possible. When I go to trade in my 6s, T-Mobile will only credit me for $265 not $650. Called support. They've never heard of the program. No iPhone 6s is worth that much. Tried two different times. Same response.

Complete total and utter scam. Someone should go to jail.

I don't think it makes a difference what they are telling you about the trade in value. Without the promotion that would matter. With the promotion you are being given bill credits the way it was explained to me. I traded in my iPhone 6 Plus 128GB for the iPhone 7plus 128GB. I had to pay $220 plus taxes ($80) and a $20 fee. Of that $320 I was actually charged on my credit card $250. So the remaining $70 is spread out over 24 months and after all the credits I will pay $2.91 monthly. At least that's the way 2 different agents explained it to me on twitter. I had some other bogus explanations when I called the 800 number.

Thank you for posting this. My family has suffered from the same, yes, SCAM. We sent in my iPhone 5s, as well as my wife's iPhone 6. They came back to us stating that BOTH phones didn't turn on, which is ludacris. Both were fully functional. i just told them to send it back to me then, and they stated that they wouldn't because it's their property now. This is theft, and the definition of it. I will join you in a class action lawsuit. They think they can take my iPhone 5 and 6 for $0 and stick me with $1500 to pay for the new ones when promised otherwise. I don't even want these iPhone 7 now, and want a full refund under this dishonest promotion. This scam will hurt T-Mobile. I am ready for war and will see this to the end. Contact me bankbank1@msn.com to add your name if you are reading this and have fallen victim to this T-Mobile scam. Lawyers and judges salivate when big corporations like this rip off the average hard working honest citizens. T-Mobile get your team of lawyers ready. I look forward to our day in court because, exposing the truth of this scam will force T-Mobile to suffer a consequence that I look forward to getting justice for.

The program is not a scam at all. Was a damn great deal for me. Traded in my iPhone 6 Plus 128gb and got the iPhone 7 plus after paying 220 plus taxes. The issue is the way T-Mobile does the credits etc that makes it seem crazy. It seems like no matter which phone u have you're given a credit of 195 bucks then you're given another credit for me it was $454 then u subtract from your EIP amount. At the end of it I'm paying $2.91 monthly for 2 years. It's all the fuzzy math that's confusing. No scam.

It's not fuzzy math.
They're basically charging you on your monthly bill for the eip of the phone and crediting you at the same time so the amount charged for the phone just cancels out. It's not that hard to understand.
If you stay with them for the full 24 months the phone will be free.
If you cancel before that you are responsible to pay off yourself the rest of the eip payments at once in full.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Not for my family. We've been robbed

Math is not at all fuzzy when they try to give you $0 for two fully functional iphones

for me I received a $165 credit towards my EIP, the other is taken out in Tmobile credits ($20/M for 24 months)
all this should equal about the cost of the phone.

Free phone, not really since you are paying the tax of the phone and waiting out 24 months, but it is just about an even swap if you play it through.

I hear you, I would be really upset if they tried to pull something like that with me.
I was able to get credit for both my iPhone 6 plus devices within days received.
I would contact higher up tech support or reach out to the CEO team.

There's always a catch with free offers or promos in general.
Before you were getting an iPhone for $195 but if you left before the 2 years were up you could be paying up to $350 in an ETF.
Off course its free if you follow the promo according to the 2 year agreement you enter.
You always have to pay Tax on any purchases so not sure where that surprise comes from?
Its not an even swap as here take my iPhone 6 and just give me the iPhone 7 type of thing. You have to do certain things on your end and that's stay with them for 2 years to receive the full $650 credit. Its still a great deal.

I would never send a phone into T-Mobile anymore. When we first switched over we traded in to have them pay our ETFs and get in a few other promos. Long story short it took more then three months for them to "find" the phones we sent in.

Do everything in store. They should be able to apply everything in store and you leave with a receipt saying what you have them and what you were promised.

As far as the program, my wife got the 7 and moved from a 6s (we opted to sell the 6s and buy a 6 used just for the trade offer). She got the deal and all is well. She didn't have to move to the one plan but this was a preorder. If we had to move to the one plan I wouldn't have taken it because it's $20 more per month than we pay now and we were just upgraded to unlimited data on all four lines for free anyway...

I'll also add that they are allowing us to pay off the 6s (it still has about $300 left to pay but we are also getting $7/mo bill credits for that line) at the same time. Yes. We have TWO phone installments on one phone number. I was pretty pleased by this as I get to save another $60 on that other phone. As a result of this method of upgrade our bill didn't change at all. It remained exactly the same and will drop off by about $20 in 8 months.

it take two he ars to receive the full $650 credit. Its still a great deal.

I'm really not even sure what people are complaining about. A few short years ago you paid $200+ down and were locked in for two years. You now lay $0 down and are locked in for two years (and possibly even paying less per month than you were with old plans). I'm not even sure why people are calling this a "catch". But I guess if the expectation was handing T-Mobile a 6, they hand you a 7, and then you stroll on over to ATT, yeah, there's s catch lol.

This is absolutely a great deal. I'd say this is a better deal than has ever been offered. And I think every major carrier is offering virtually this exact thing.
