Just as a word of caution buried in the fine print at least last year was to not use it on another mobile network. I logged into Mlb.tv on my Verizon work phone and Mlb suspended my account.

Just use the "T-Mobile Tuesdays" app next Tuesday, March 27, and redeem the offer. That's it.

BTW @grundoon's comment does not reflect my experience. Prior to T-Mobile giving away MLB.tv, I had previously been a paying subscriber for a few years; but all I had to do was cancel my renewal (after the fact - I'd already been charged) and then redeem the T-Mobile offer. I was able to link my T-Mobile subscription with my existing MLB account.

Heh, you must have gotten a better customer service rep than I, or at least a more pro-customer one. A whole lot of back-and-forth during my experience was mostly just "nope" coming from their side. :)

The downside? You’re on the T-Mobile network.
I switched from Verizon which I had for over 10 years to T-Mobile about a year ago and I am so much more happy with them over Verizon. There is a reason why they are on fire right now. I have 3 devices all unlimited everything for $125 a month including taxes. I'm about 15 miles outside of Rochester, NY in a small suburb and my speeds are between 70 to 115 mbps down and 25 to 35 mbps up. My service has worked every place I've needed it and the speeds are so fast that I even canceled my cable internet and I am using one of the sim cards in a hotspot that's on 24/7 using around 200 gigs a month with zero problems. So I have 2 unlimited phones and high speed internet for $125 total a month including taxes and fees. Definitely no down side!

What hoops? There is literally just a cancel button on the "Audio/Video Subscriptions" page under the main menu dropdown when you click on your account in the top right corner of the website. Also, I think they charge current subscribers in early March before the Spring Training games start, which makes sense to me.

The hoops whereby if you've already been charged (on Feb 28 this year, for me) cancelling does not automatically issue a refund, and you have to deal with customer service (who, in my case, also feed you misinformation about whether you can then relink the promo account to your site account, and whether a refund will be pro-rated since technically you're already weeks into your subscription). Sounds like things have since improved though, fortunately.

It didn't even occur to me that switching to T-Mobile last year is now going to save me $130 on MLB.tv this year!

Thanks Tmo, and go Dodgers!
The Dodgers haven't been worth a hoot since they left Brooklyn.

With the T-Mobile One plan it says, "Video typically streams at DVD quality (480p)." Does that apply to the MLB broadcast? If so, that would keep me away.

Ah I understand now. Yea, cancelling and getting a refund after the fact is always a challenge. Not just MLB, every service pretty much.

I try to cancel auto-renew immediately upon signing up to any service where it is applicable. I think it's a solid "best practice" when dealing with pre-paid subscription services in general. As you said, MLB doesn't turn off your service if you cancel auto-renew, it just doesn't auto-renew the next year.

For me the downside was when I was on AT&T. I could not get service anywhere in my neighborhood and still can't today. T-Mobile is the only carrier that is able to do this simple thing considering I am in Denver Colorado. I love T-Mobile.

Anyone else having issues registering this morning? I can’t find any T-Mobile option or anything related to the offer when I log on at mlb tv

I love TMobile but no service where I live, so I had to go back to Verizon..wish I could get the MLB pkg

For those who haven't redeemed the MLB offer, Monday is the last day to redeem.

Sure is nice having a VPN, so that I don't have to worry about dealing with any blackout games.

Really enjoying all the coverage of the new season. Makes me want to get out Ken Burns: Baseball.
