T-Mobile today announced that, starting March 1, new and existing customers can activate three lines of T-Mobile ONE with unlimited data, talk, and text for $100 per month after bill credits. The plan usually costs $100 per month for two lines, and $140 per month for three lines, so the third line is essentially free.

T-Mobile is also offering an additional line for free to existing customers with two or more voice lines, including T-Mobile ONE and older Simple Choice plans. There are virtually no strings attached to the deal, which is likely an incentive to keep customers from switching to new unlimited data plans at AT&T and Verizon.

The offer is available for a limited time only, but T-Mobile said customers who take advantage of the promotion now will be able to keep the free third line for as long as they have qualifying service and remain in good standing, or until they make changes to their plan. Prices are based on AutoPay.

So you pay for two instances of T-Mobile ONE, get three lines and they are all unlimited (unlimited cubed?) (but within limits, obviously!).

T Mobile doesn't have good coverage in the Plains states- North Dakota south to Kansas, then west to the Rockies. If you live in a major city the coverage is probably ok to great, but leave that city and your cell data connection becomes slow and spotty. I live 10 miles outside of Omaha, and I've borrowed friends T Mobile phone (everyone's coverage maps are extremely optimistic) to see what connectivity really is and it wasn't good. It does depend on which direction you travel as to how far before the service degrades, but cities in this area can easily be 150-500 miles apart between major ones, especially going west.

If T-Mobile had service within 15 miles of where I lived, I'd have changed a long time ago. Their prices are just insane for switching and for plans.

Unfortunately, Verizon isn't much better but at least I never drop a call.

Hope the other jump on this and match or bring down their price. I currently have ATT and would move to T-Mobile, but keep hearing horrible signal even though the coverage map shows my area is good.

I think they finally convinced me to switch from Verizon. I have three lines (wife on unlocked iPhone SE, grandparents on unlocked iPhone 7, and myself on unlocked iPhone 7) and this would save me quite a bit—about $456/yr plus no activation fees for my iPhone Upgrade Program. Does anyone know if a 15% work discount also applies to this?

[doublepost=1488213008][/doublepost]Pretty amazing!

One question: Can I use this additional line for my tablet? Can I even switch it back and forth between tablet and phone? I sometimes get foreign visitors and would love that!

Still waiting to get my "free" iPhone7 from September. Their promo system is a complete joke. Takes months of fighting with them. Check out r/t-mobile on reddit...
I've had no issues with my "free" phone. They did screw up but I got my trade in credit now and my credits come in monthly.
[doublepost=1488214425][/doublepost]Can someone clear this up for me? I currently have 7 lines and I'm paying $220 for the Tmobile One for all of them with $20 taken off each month because my parents don't even break 100mb a month so we get the $10 for each line. But this is how it looks like it breaks down with this new promo:

First 2 Lines = $100
3rd = $0
4th = $20
5th = $20
6th = $20
7th = $20

Total of $180 and I'll get -$20 for my parents lines for a total of $160/mo with taxes included and Autopay credit included.

Does that sound right or will the 4th line be $40 like they did with the 3rd line for the last 2 weeks?

Promo is for new lines only I believe.

Nope it says existing customers can switch to the Promo.

From the Website:
"New customers, current customers and employees are eligible to receive this offer as long as they are on a qualifying rate plan, have two paid voice lines, and an account in good standing. Customers with one voice line will need to migrate to T-Mobile ONE and add a second paid voice line to qualify for the FREE Line. Qualifying new and existing @Work customers may add one additional qualifying line on us for a max of 12 lines total."

My question is will the 4th line be $20 as per normal "additional line" or will it be $40 which was actually raised for the 3rd line originally.

Previously before the ONE promotion it was 2 for $120 and $20 for each additional line.
Then IT went to 2 for $100, 3rd line for $40 and then 4-8 was $20 8-12 was $25.
Now it's 2 for $100 w/ free 3rd line. But they don't mention what the price of lines 4-8 will be.

No I just spoke to them, you will lose the 2GB rebate of $10 per line you get now, and they discount the cheapest line. In your case $20. So your breakdown looks like this:

Line 1 & 2 = $100
Line 3 = $40
Line 4 = $40
Line 5 = $20
Line 6 = $20
Line 7 = free

Total = $220

Ah so in the end the total will be the same? $200 for 7 lines but it's technically a better deal since my parents won't have stay under 2gb a month anymore.

Sorry check my notes again you would be at $220 because the fourth line is still $40 it's the 5th line that drops to $20.
