Sorry check my notes again you would be at $220 because the fourth line is still $40 it's the 5th line that drops to $20.

You changed it from what you had previously.

But that doesn't sound right... I'll have to give them a call too.

Before I was quoted at $220 total for my plan with credits taking it down to $200. So this would be higher? That doesn't make much sense for a promo.

Be prepared to spend hours over the course of multiple phone calls to get them to apply these “bill credits”. I’ve spent enormous amounts of time with all kinds of special T-Mobile reps and I’m still waiting on my “bill credits” from my September iPhone purchase.

They are a sham!!

What is bill credit? Is that the credit you get for switching carrier? I know they advertise paying the cancellation fees.

As current TM customer, good luck get your your promo/credits...
Unfortunately, that's true. You have to watch your bill like a hawk and when they miss a credit, you have to spend 15 minutes on the phone. And they blame on "the computer." You eventually get it, and it doesn't happen every month (at least it didn't with us), but it becomes an annoyance.

Instead of dropping the price of the service, they promise to apply credits to the account. In this case it looks like they're promising to apply a $40/month credit. We bought 2 6s's and were promised 2 $7/month credits. We bought the phones the same day but the credits were not applied the same day. They put one on or near to the due date, which made it difficult to track. I had to call maybe 5-6 times in a year about not getting one of the credits.

Does this offer of 3 lines for $100 include taxes? Also, my wife is paying off her AT&T phone through the Apple Program.

Does she need to pay it off completely before she can get it unlocked? I've read in the past people saying that Apple would switch her out for a t-mobile version? Is this true?

Still waiting to get my "free" iPhone7 from September. Their promo system is a complete joke. Takes months of fighting with them. Check out r/t-mobile on reddit...

I don't disagree with you that their promo system is a joke, and don't really know what your situation is like, but your order might have been screwed up if you're still waiting since September. I've ordered several 7's and 7+ during their initial trade-up promo, and everything went through correctly, despite having a few small road bumps before the phones arrived (on time).

So if I jumped on the initial 2 lines for $100 promo can I add a 3rd line at no extra cost on 3/1?

That's what it seems like, but to my understanding, in order for the bill to be $100, you have to sign up for AutoPay, and it can take two billing cycles before you see the $100 price.

That was a pain point for me. I do hope it's something Lergere and his team address. It was nice with ATT. All credits and adjustments are immediate.

But I can't justify the long term savings I am getting to stick with ATT

OK I just got off the phone with T-mobile unfortunately I can't change one of my 7 lines to a "free line" but I CAN add a tablet line for free and basically have an unlimited data tablet for free... which I'm ok with.

But you have to do it starting 3/1. But this works for me. Free unlimited data on a tablet means free video all day long! :D

I think they finally convinced me to switch from Verizon. I have three lines (wife on unlocked iPhone SE, grandparents on unlocked iPhone 7, and myself on unlocked iPhone 7) and this would save me quite a bit—about $456/yr plus no activation fees for my iPhone Upgrade Program. Does anyone know if a 15% work discount also applies to this?

They do not do discounts. I just switched over a few weeks ago and am active duty military. They said I can get a one time $25 gift card... Looks like I'm moving to ATT at the end of this cycle since I have Directv Now so I can get that $25 credit and 15% discount.

I just spoke to them also. I have 3 lines now, would have to add a 4th to be eligible.
That sucks. I am in a similar boat as you; have 3 lines, they are charging $100 for the first 2, but $40 for the third one, for the total of $140. Wanted to see if it was possible to keep the bill at $100 for the 3 existing lines. Since the 3rd line is not that critical, I guess I'm just going to port it to Google Voice and forward it to one of my existing lines, then come March 1st, port it back to T-Mobile under promotion.

Are you saving money by switching to ATT?

Curious about the math here.

My work has always said that T-Mobile has a 15% discount. I just didn't know if it could stack with this promotion. Thanks though!

I have 2 lines and a tablet. I straight up asked, can I cancel my tablet plan today and add it back on 3/1.

Response was, it's for new lines only. Wasn't sure what that meant.

Exactly what you've heard. IMO, probably means that they can't lower the price on existing accounts, but they were nice enough to give you a workaround. So pretty much what you would have to do is cancel your existing tablet line, then add it back after March 1.

Kinda easier to do with a tablet since it does have a phone number associated, but it's not relevant since you can't make and receive calls on that number. Plus it would involve a trip to the store for a new SIM card or waiting for one by mail since once you cancel your existing tablet line, the SIM card associated with it will be de-activated, I'm pretty sure you'll need a new one when adding it back.

I actually want to keep the number on my third line, so I'll probably have to port it somewhere else (GV will charge $20), then back to T-Mobile. Again, probably warrants a trip to the store or online order.

Apparently there is a no cancellations since 1/1/17 clause, so cancelling the line is no help

Yeah, nothing said about that. We rarely tether, but when we do it's because we want to watch a video at a condo we stay at now and then and we don't want it low-def.

I looked around. It seems there's unlimited "2G" tethering, that is, artificially limited to 512 kbps. If you want 4G tethering, it's $15 for 5 gigs.
