  • Free 200MB Mobile Internet data and roaming allotments do not carry over.
  • Not combinable with Match Your Data offer; other promotional offers and discounts may also be excluded.
  • Data does not begin carrying over until after free 10GB runs out.
  • Free 10GB: Limited time offer; subject to change.
  • Once per customer.
  • Data available beg. 1st full Jan bill cycle; available until 12/31/15.

Questions:
1) If I'm paying for 3GB a month, does it use my free 200MB a month first or last?
2) If they discontinue this next December, I really don't have 12 months to roll data over, do I?

Gary

I presume you have 1gb per line. That isn't enough for most people. I advise you to move up in plans.

I use AT&T for primary, TMO mainly for international use. 1GB is more than enough given TMO's shortcomings in the SF Bay Area. I'd say about 25% of the bay area I end up on EDGE a portion of the day.

I thought the unlimited AT&T plan isn't truly ' unlimited' you're throttled after a certain amount of GB I think 4,5,or 7 , I have T-Mobile and have the unlimited plan I use about 20GB a month and sometimes more, as far as speed tests go the highest I've gotten is 45mpbs around here at home I get about 15 or so , no complaints whatsoever

That's correct. AT&T throttles unlimited grandfather users at 5GB. I haven't heard of any rollover data.

I switched to T-mobile Unlimited 4G LTE about two months ago from AT&T, and couldn't be happier. Their service is actually faster and more reliable than AT&T in the NYC area.

You use your 200mb of data first always.
Your data from 1/1/15 will expire 1/1/16 if you don't use any of it. With each month your "saved" data will expire. It does seem iffy about how they'll keep track of what data is used and when? But I expect like in the old At&t rollover minute days that they'll keep a counter and your oldest data is used first.

They won't discontinue this but I'd assume they'd let you keep your saved data for the full 12 months after your last bit of saved data. So if they end it in Dec 2015 you have til Dec 2016 to use the remainder... but only the amounts in the correlating months. So you'll automatically lose 10gb 1/1/2016 if you've never touched your saved data.

I love them despite having horrible indoor reception at stores like Target. My work is fine though and luckily Target has free wifi.

Sounds Good!

I'm glad t-mobile is breaking a lot of traditional stuff from the big monopoly carriers and John Legere seems far more human the typical corporate robot nonsense I'm used to from the ATT SPRINT VERIZON monopolies. I hope that T-Mobile continues to gain customers over the giants that already exist. I really like his no-bs frank personality.

For big data hogs the best thing going is a Verizon Unlimited plan that is grandfathered if you can find one for sale from someone willing to part ways. I'm not sure if Verizon still allows them to be transferred but I'm at 289gigs this month! Any calling I do though wifi / google voice/hangouts.

Verizon allows you to swap sims so those are currently in mifi devices.

Currently I have 2 unlimited plans I use with verizon and 1 Sprint $50 unlimited plan with for my phone 6 plus.

I think this data rollover is for individual plans? people can do family will go for the $100 unlimited LTE plan? Once you get on that $100 plan, will it always be good? or they will raise the price after 1 year.

For the 2x unthrottled unlimited plan @ $100, the prices will increase after one year.

where did you read that? do you know how much it will be after a year? it will go back to what it would be such as $140?

I remember John Legere mentioning that during the interview. I imagine it'll go to normal rates ($80 for line 1 and +$50 for line 2 ($130 total)).

Huh? Are you really trying to make the argument that T-Mobile didn't influence Sprint and AT&T's double data promotion?

I don't really care but I think it's hysterical how wrapped up people get with their carriers. I have ATT because I used to have Verizon and changed phones. They are all terrible just like every cable company I've ever encountered too. But I pick the one that has the best coverage for my area and commute. I don't pretend like my little underdog of a carrier is disrupting everything for the larger carriers.

People must really get off on saving a few bucks but they don't value their time or user experience that they lose during the process.

Why are you telling me this? I don't use T-Mobile.

Hmm... Should I use the free time to go see a movie, or spend some time to switch carriers to start saving some money to where I could perhaps see more movies?

The ignorance of some... But hey! It's the Internet.

For those of you with T-Mobile and do not get full coverage at home, you can contact them for a signal booster to be sent to you free of charge.

I for one welcome these recent moves, they're really starting to disrupt the industry.

Higher monthly plan + lower phone cost versus lower monthly plan + higher phone cost... Difference is often small over 24 months, with the advantage after that given to the latter. May not be as big of a deal that many make it seem.

110 2 lines isn't bad if you ask me for the service we get plus 10 gb of data unlimited calling /text

Conflicting info from t-mobile store employees regarding the qualifying plan for 10kb eligibility. Is it just for family and business plans and not a single line postpaid?
