He's like Amazon's Jeff Bezos, a market disruptor. We need more risk taking CEOs to make competition favor the consumer.
I wonder about this. He has a long history as a suit wearing, straight laced executive. Did he really hide his true personality his entire career up to this point or is this just a brilliant marketing ploy?
No one wondering what the #$@% that is sitting on the, for us viewers, left chair? Sounds like a guy, looks like errr... not really a guy.
That's assuming some gigantic Japanese or European conglomerate doesn't succeed buying out T-Mobile first.

To be fair, SoftBank aren't a giant Japanese conglomerate, quite the opposite. They're a new(ish) and nimble company, who shook up the Japanese mobile market - a risk taker in a country of ultra conservative, slow moving, flat managed companies. Son-san himself is one of the most outspoken Japanese CEOs. Not so different after all.
Huh?
T-Mobile are owned by Deutsche Telekom AG, always have been.
We do, but I like the term, 'Everything in moderation. hes over the top. I just wind up thinking what a fool he seems.
I think John Legere is one hell of a CEO and I T-Mobile has done an incredible job shaking up the wireless industry.
That being said, T-Mobile's service (coverage-wise) is atrocious, I switched from Sprint (a really bad service provider in its own right) and I was impressed with the data speeds in the few areas that I had solid coverage but I had such little coverage that I ultimately switched to Verizon when I got my iPhone 6 and haven't looked back.
Verizon and AT&T are the only good carriers in the US and while they're pricier than T-Mobile and Sprint, you definitely get what you pay for.
Oh hey, time traveller from the 1950s. Yeah, welcome to 2014. Turns out that treating people who cross over from one gender to another with respect doesn't actually bring civilization to a screeching halt as was previously feared back in the superstitious old days. So we're all sort of treating them like equals nowadays instead of making snide, narrow-minded comments about their life choices.
I know, crazy, huh? But it actually seems to work.
I think too many people are caught up in the Uncarrier hype to look at the real facts.
- They're growing rapidly... mostly at the expense of Sprint, not AT&T/VZW. It's hardly surprising as they both go after the same "bottom of the totem" pole customer.
- They're still unprofitable... they posted a net loss
- They're still loosing more customers than adding them. Their churn rate is 1.6%. AT&T/VZW are right around 1%.

However... I will say this. They have quoted that they're around 250 million POP for LTE coverage right now. 300 million by end of 2015.
I highly doubt Sprint will get close by next year. Pathetic when NV has been going on for ages now. T-Mobile will leap-frog Sprint very soon. There are too many questionable decisions being made by the Sprint board. Example being their implementation of HD Voice not being cross-carrier compatible.
You're probably right about people being caught up in the uncarrier hype, but even more people seem to be brainwashed into thinking they have no choice but to bend over for AT&T/Verizon for the "best" service.
