It's funny TM is expanding in really rural areas like Montana where ROI cannot be too great. Good for the residents there though. :) However, many areas in PA, MD, NJ and DE (less than an hour away from major cities like Philly, DC and NYC), are still super spotty. I'm not talking EDGE only, I am talking Emergency Only roaming on at&t type spotty. I've even confirmed with T-Mobile that some of these problem areas are not getting new cell sites anytime soon; they are pretty transparent about upcoming plans. There is just no way that 700mhz is some panacea for them that they think and that is a real shame.

I think it would be smarter to improve suburban/rural areas near major cities (their target demographic) and rely on at&t roaming in really rural areas. But, they're all about making that map look good versus a consistent user experience in old Omnipoint areas.

Looks good. Even see some expansion deep into western NC and rural northern GA. Also noticed they added some coverage in WV. Didn't expect that one at all.

There's a reason they keep adding more customers than VZW/AT&T and it will only get worse for them as coverage continues to improve.

As far as PA and T-Mobile go. Indoor coverage is still a joke even with Band 12. I put my T-Mobile SIM card in my Sim Free 6S Plus and used it for 2 whole days just to see how much their coverage had improved. Along areas of I-95 things were good, even headed toward Philadelphia. However, that is where solid LTE coverage ended. Headed back home and into the Burbs, you can forget it. I watched as the signal went from LTE, 4G, EDGE, and then in a few areas, no service at all. That was enough of a test for me to go back to using my AT&T Sim again full time. There is no reason not to have any coverage in some of the areas that I was in.

Great service in LA county and in Southern California. I would say at par or better than AT&A and Verizon where I frequently go. I can say it because I also have at&t in addition to T-Mobile and my friend is on Verizon.
BTW I'm on 6S plus and LG G4 with band 12.

Unfortunately I was just informed today that my area is in "strong band 12" coverage. There's a room in my house were signal goes dead. Inside we get edge, sometimes 4g. Outside I've seen edge, 4g, lte, and even no service (rarely) in virtually the same places. If it wasn't for wifi calling it would be unusable. We have about 4 months worth of bill credits
Left due to a slew of mistakes T-Mobile reps made ordering our devices so we will stick it through that long. Overall we are happy with the service, just not necessarily at home.

I just visited that sea and was impressed. My friend who works in LA and lives in Glendale is strongly considering dumping Verizon after seeing this.

Rather than converting towers, it would be nice if they spent money building new towers :( .
The smart business move is to always make choices that effect the most customers. Unfortunately T-Mobile is playing catchup, which is why they are doing all of this "nice" uncarrier stuff (it's not because Legerre wants to give away free services).
