Has anybody taken their JB plus to a Genius Bar for replacement? Did they have white box replacements in stock?
If it looks brand new, and works good then what difference does it make if it comes out of white box or purple box?
theres some people who care about that. idk why when you know those phones are new since the 7 just came out. even so they're still pretty much new.
It slipped out of my hand, hit the tile and went for a swim in my pool. For what?

Do you have insurance or going to try to replace for water damage? It slipped out of my hand, hit the tile and went for a swim in my pool.

I know.
They act like its the largest purchase of their existance or the most important thing to worry about in life![]()
Based on the reaction here, I'd argue that in many cases IT IS. As ridiculous as it seems, there are literally people on the verge of financial ruin that will purchase iPhones anyway just because they have to have one.
There's a distinct difference between "good customer service" and just doing whatever the customer wants all of the time, with no questions or restrictions. If you bring in a phone for warranty work, you are entitled to a fix for the problem, NOT a brand new device. But listen to people whine about "white box" models and whether or not they are "brand new" and you'll start questioning if they got a different warranty than everyone else. That clause certainly isn't in mine.
If when you get your device back everything works, that's all anyone deserves. Apple has created a monster out of a small portion of their customer base that expect a brand new device everytime they bring one in because they think the screen looks a little yellow if they hold it sideways while watching it during a solar eclipse.
Apple has PLENTY of refurbs within a month of launch. Think about all of the returns/exchanges that happen the first week alone (for outright silly reasons). They slap a new case on em (which is nice of them to do), give em a new serial number, and voila: white box refurb ready for a warranty swap! They say it's new? Okie dokie! Genuises have NEVER lied before, so I certainly believe them.
It doesn't take months to build up refurb stock when you're selling the most returned product in the world (well... maybe it's the Note 7 THIS year =P)!

To be more specific. It doesn't work (water damage) or look brand new. Who said anything about a free replacement? This is not a valid excuse for a free of charge replacement or exchange, expect to be charged.
One of the best common sense posts ever.
Very well put.
The sense of entitlement is crazy.
Im bringing in my banged up and scuffed up iPhone after 5 months of use but offcourse I dont want a white box replacement.
It has to be brand new
The screen tone has to be "warm" and I'd like a replacement that has the qualcomm baseband chip, also my Jet Black gloss finish is supposed to be pristine forever and without a single hairline mark if I hold it under a light and on an angle 3 inches from my face

You will have to pay the $99 deductible and you will get a fully functional device that works and looks like new.
And you will also have about 23 more months left of warranty so Apple will take care of you.
You have no say whether the device comes from a white box or any box or how.
As long as it functions properly and looks good then that's the end of it.
It will work and look way better than the device you're handing in that's for sure...
AppleCare plus covers accidental damage.you just admitted you dropped your phone and it fell in your pool.
now why would you expect it to get replaced?

If you receive a defective device, you should absolutely be entitled to another brand new device within the first 14 days.
My wild guess is the damage from dropping it on concrete breached the waterproofing?wow...the OP simply asked if the replacements would be in stock...why all the entitlement crap?
So my question is about the water resistance, I thought it would survive a drop in the pool or toilet
but couldn't stay submerged for more than 30 minutes...is this not the case?
