So again, I'm canceling with Verizon over the phone, and the person is telling me that I will be charged an activation fee. I never used the phone on Verizon, and replaced the SIM with my t-mobile one as soon as I got it, and it's only the day after (I'm only being charged for one day of service). I didn't even open the box in store.

I had to start a new line on a new account when I got the phone on contract. Did you do the same, or was it an old account/line? I bought at Apple store. I basically did everything you said except open it at the store. What should I tell them?

I finally got my final bill and it has the ETF, activation charge, one day of service fee and taxes on the bill.

thanks for the advice and help man. FWIW The Verizon rep I canceled with on the phone also told me I wouldn't have any trouble trying to sign with vz in the future since the ETF completes my end of the contract.

Thanks again
