iPhone Tap and hold spacebar buggy, not always working

Has anybody else noticed the iphone’s tap spacebar and hold doesn’t always work?

sometimes only 50% of the times on my Iphone Xr.

Is this being looked at / fixed in upcoming ios updates?

You just have to wait longer after typing, then press spacebar.

I haven't experienced any issues with holding the space bar and entering cursor mode but the post above is the solution.

You don’t tap the space bar to move the cursor. Press and hold instead.

Hmmmmmm. I now prefer this than force touch to move the cursor on my max. All these years with iPhones and I never tried that...

That's not a space bar thing. You can use your whole keyboard as a trackpad.

Yeah, I kind of find myself using that more often than 3D Touch these days. However, one annoyance/limitation is that by starting things on the spacebar you are already at the bottom of the screen, which limits your downward movement (unlike the 3D Touch method that could be initiated higher up in the center of the keyboard essentially).
