I can see this having its uses. In 2001 I got in trouble for using a Palm Pilot to take notes in class because the professor thought I was playing games. I got so good at using the Grafitti system though that I could take not Notes without taking my eyes off the teacher. Something like this could bring note taking to the next level.

Sell it in "Adult" stores and it might be a hit.
Why? My mind is not as dirty so IDK what other use for it to sell there?

Interesting concept and looks useful! I can see the company being bought out by the likes of
Google or Microsoft if this truly has potential.
I don't. There is nothing proprietary about it. Plus it looks cumbersome to use.

Interesting concept, but I think they are marketing it wrong. Using this with a phone doesn't really make sense to me, as you are likely holding the phone in your other hand so you might as well just type. The watch is an interesting idea but Apple Watch won't let you do that right now (Unless you had an app that was running on the watch, and the keyboard was connected to the iPhone and passed the input to the watch app, but you wouldn't be able to use it for messages anyways which would be the point.)

This could be interesting for a tablet, or a larger TV interface - especially if it also had an accelerometer to detect hand gestures. Typing on those devices can be cumbersome in many situations.

Does anyone knows how much this thing will cost? My spot on the waiting list is above 2,300  ... I guess it is a good alternative, probably better than dictating to Siri.

I don't see how this is any easier than using the keyboard on the phone/tablet that is laying right there next to the people in the ad. Or even worse, the lady in the ad that already has the phone in her hand to take a picture then sets the phone down to use this thing...?
Mao, I thought of the exact same thing with that dumb ady. XD

Already done :) See Gmail Tap:
:D It's a joke, but actually a ring with bluetooth would be an interesting device. Someone could reply to messages without touching a phone or watch while on the go by just tapping any surface.

I enjoyed a colleague of Jony Ive:

Funny you mention the ring with bluetooth. From my novel-in-progress: "He used his thumb to press the bottom of a ring on his right hand. Lights flared on his holo-lenses."

This is useless vapourware

A lot of people are mocking this but I could see this being potentially useful as an accessibility device for people who are visually impaired.

Then there's this.[/QU

Then there's this.

Not at all. Most of them can type faster and more accurate than me on the ordinary keyboard. Tap is totally useless for them. Actually, for anyone.
[doublepost=1463243868][/doublepost]This device seems cool for 2 sec. Then, when u start to think about it actual usages, u begin to realize that it is completely useless and most stupid invention in years. Here is the reasons why.

1. Worst thing. It blocks yr hand. When u wear it, that hand cannot grab a glass or have a quick snack. So u need to remove it first. U can't even go to bathroom or wash your hand. U will also risk typing sth unintentionally, as u have to wear it in your hand.

2. For most use cases in advertising video, u can just use "silent Bluetooth keyboard" and it works perfectly. It won't block yr hand. It is much much more effective solution.

3. Visually impaired people won't need it. They can use regular keyboard. They type much faster and more accurate than me and most people I know.

4. It seems like a very slow way to type. Extremely slow. Also unlikely to be accurate

With iPad covers that have keyboards in them now, and the fact that most normal people hold their iphones when using them...um...as cool as this tech is...it really isn't practical. And when they showed that girl on the bicycle using it, I actually laughed. Besides being totally absurd, Texting while riding any vehicle should not be promoted. Why anyone would use this thing instead of hands free SIRI in such a situation anyway is beyond me.

Also, this seems like it could be good for when your hands need to physically be somewhere, but you're free to shift your grip. Like when you're driving.
I bet this will not be real. But if it is, then this type of distracted driving is more dangerous than watching smartphone screen or carplay display (if applicable).
3. Visually impaired people won't need it. They can use regular keyboard. They type much faster and more accurate than me and most people I know.
Regular keyboard? Physical one?
I am not visually impaired for now. But I must admire their learning capabilities in this case.

This looks like it has more potential than the Apple Watch does, and like it could actually change the Apple Watch from being borderline useless to possibly worth buying.

But it's ugly and looks uncomfortable.

I don't see where this thing can show me the time. So it's less useful than the Apple Watch. I send maybe 2 text messages per week, so typing a text on the Apple Watch is of no use to me. If I wanted to text from the watch all I have to do is speak the text anyways. Stupid item, stupid post.

I'm intrigued... but you have to look at your screen, right? Which means your phone is within arm's reach... which means you can just pick it up and have complete control. Maybe I'm missing something.

I mean come on, you're showing someone post to Instagram? How did she take the photo and edit it? You're telling me she did all that, and then put the phone down so she could tap the text? Or is it understood that you can do all of that with this device? If so, they should have shown that. But still, she had to take the photo, so the phone was already in her hands!
