Yeeeeaaaahhh booooiii!! Target is the shiznit baby!!! 64GB AT&T 3G in Black!

My strategy was to go to the target in the worst neighborhood where the average shopper can't afford to spend $900 on an iPad. My strategy worked! That is the only one they had. I think the employees were saving them for themselves. They INSISTED they were sold out. I walked them over to the price/stock checker and entered the item number and it showed "in the stock room." Dude sucked his teeth another rolled his eyes and they went and got it. :)

The Target closest to me has said the 32GB Wifi iPad 2 is available all day. I called there and they said none were in stock. But its been about 3-4 hours and it still shows as available on the tracker. :/ This is so depressing lol.
Go there and check stock yourself at one of the end caps. Enter the DCPI number. They are not realiable on the phone.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll stop by there first thing tomorrow morning, since I'm busy now, doing a paper due tomorrow. :(

10 targets in the area and none in stock all day. bummer. here's to hoping for tomorrow. encouraging to see some of you have been able to find them off the links

My local Target doesn't have the endcaps where you can type in the numbers. All they have are scanners where you can scan a barcode and it tells you the price.

if you go to the store wouldn't you be better off just going to the electronics dept and asking? if you check at the endcaps and it says in stock, the electronics dept has to find them anyway, so why not just skip the endcap checking and just ask the guy in person?

That is exactly what I used. On the right side on the scanner is a number pad. Enter in the item number. The number pad is there in case it doesnt scan correctly. :)

Because when I asked in person the SWORE up and down they were sold out. I had to show them before they would go look for it.

Either they are "misinformed" (me putting it nicely) or lazy. They automatically tell you they're sold out without going to look.

Yeah, I called a Wal-Mart the other day and asked if they had any in stock and he just said "Nahh", which didn't really give me the impression he knew what he was talking about.

one of my local stores had limited availability for the white wifi 64. went in and they said they had NO ipad 2's period. checked the stock checker on the endcaps and sure enough it said no stock in the stock room. glad some of you had success, but just a warning that the system can be off.

The store I went to didn't say limited. It said available. They had 5 in stock.

My Target/Ipad story

I decided to check out the stock on the Ipad today at the Target stores in my area. All sold out of 16gb Black, so I checked 32gb Black and the store that was on my way home said it had "limited quantities". I thought, what the hell, I will stop by and check it out. I got out of work a little early and went to the target store. In electronics, I asked if they had any in stock. The attendant said he had 1 32gb black Ipad. They got 3 in today. He offered it to me, so I took it. Woot!

I then checked the same stock when I got home and it said "sold out". All I can say is that the link to check the stock of the Ipad in Target is accurate and they keep it accurate. I was pretty happy to get one. If you see something other than "sold out", then go check it out. Even at "limited quantities", you may get lucky like I did. :)

Mountain View, CA Target shows Black 32 GB Wifis in stock. I went and they said they weren't in stock. They ran up the dcpi number and it showed out of stock. The website seems accurate for most people, but just wasn't up to date in my area.

i understand it's been said that target gets their shipments overnight, but has it been confirmed that they get ipad shipments overnight? seems best buy, apple get them early in the day. don't see why target would be different.

The online inventory worked magic for me. There is not an iPad to be found in Chicago without a 2 hour wait at one of the Apple stores..........except at the Logan Square Target where some fool returned an unopened 64 gb Black WiFi model! According to the manager, I called 8 minutes after it was returned.

Boom.

Where can I find out the DCPI #'s for the iPad 2's and do ALL Targets have this device or just certain ones?
