Well, I could sympathize with those who want to move far from the city to a place that's not so crowded with people, where the cost of living is not as high, to a house that's surrounded by some arable land (for example). As one gets older and one retires from the workforce, most people prefer to live a somewhat peaceful area away from the hectic life in the city. That was the case for me and my wife, and we would never like to move to any of the crowded cities we left behind years ago.Your post reminded me of this thread from awhile back:

Riddle me this: why are people buying land in the boonies to move out to one day?
This is something I've experienced ever since moving to the US a little over six years ago, and I feel it's happening more and more frequently. I'm at a party or other social event, making small talk with friends of friends and almost every time I am at one of these social gatherings someone...forums.macrumors.com
When living in NYC I could not understand why anybody would want to move out of there, and only realized the difference when looking at the big Apple and its neighborhoods from outside in. That's when I realized that my teenage years I had lived in a bubble, a place where I had become accustomed to, not knowing that there is lif outside of it.
If one is young and in relatively good health, there is always a chance for one to experience life outside of the only city one has lived it. Life is short, so its best to enjoy each day the best way you can 🙂
