That's really not as grand as it sounds. There are so many people now, that even the crappiest of new movies can get over a million ticket sales.

Well, when you consider that the last time any album sold over 1 million copies in one week was 2015 (Adele), and the fact that Swift has sold 4 of only 7 albums that have sold over 1 million in their first week of release since 2010, it is pretty impressive. Whether you like her or not.

Obviously, you do. :)

Just because she had beef with Apple a couple of years ago, that doesn’t mean anytime she releases a new album on their service that it’s any kind of big news. Smdh...
Unless she has issues with Apple again, there is no reason to announce her album releases, or anyone else’s release for that matter, on Apple blogs. Unless you guys are thinking about switching to a music blog where you report ALL big artists album releases...

Ironically, contrived pop music like this is specifically intended for consumers with "deaf ears".

I would say that rap music is for those with "deaf ears".

But, again, that's my opinion. One of the types of music I enjoy (among many others) are feel-good songs that you can work out or dance to. Pop Music and Country Rock both do well for those types of songs.

Well, she is a naturally talented pop music writer, and she's taken her teenage angst persona about as far into her 20's as she can probably get away with. Her songs are catchy, no question, and that's why she's a billionaire. She's OK looking when she's not trying so hard to look "iconic". Her singing voice is really thin and of limited range, and her backup singers are much better than she is (maybe it's always been like that in pop). But there aren't many great voices in pop music, never has been, either.

Good for her, though.
