How about option-clicking on the WiFi icon in your menu bar. That will tell us how fast your connection is to your router.

Does that mean that your internet connection now works more or less normal? Have you tried to restart your router, in case you have physical access to it? Unplug it from power for something like 30s and plug it back again. In most cases when you have internet connection related problems, the reason is your router. You can also try to forget your current network, and then connect again to it (just make sure you know the password).
