I remember reading a rumor about a year or so ago that there would be a fourth season that was about the team and the coaches, minus Ted. That sounds like this might line up with that.

Wish I could find it again.

Honestly, I hope this doesn't happen. As much as I liked the show, they closed all of the loose ends at the end of season 3. There is nothing unfinished that I need to see.

For those saying it should've ended, just don't watch it when it comes back and make believe it ended. Nobody forces you to watch future episodes. Those of us who do want more appreciate the option to watch more.

I always think the same when people say they want a show to be canceled. Just don't watch it!

I was barely hanging on at end of season 2 - season 3 lose me after the first 2 episodes. They had a really good funny storyline and tried to stretch it and stretch it and stretch it so what can they possibly do for season four? IMHO YMMV.

I for one love it when a show with a well-defined end that wraps up everyone's story nicely changes it's mind and then has to scramble to undo everything

I think they should have just let it be done. Season 3 wasn't as good as season 1 and 2. Feels like diminishing returns, which is often the case with any popular series. Just end it when its good and don't ruin a fantastic show. I'm looking at you Dexter and GOT.

Ugh. A good ending might go to waste. It was fine as they left it.
Some of the plot lines and characters in season 2 and 3 meandered for a bit as they were left in a holding pattern. It was okay as background noise, but these small problematic issues tend to become larger when forced to come back for more seasons or sequels.

Just like like Toy Story series. TS3 was a perfect ending. There was no need for a 4th much like a 5th. Same with Ted Lasso. The end was great. Everything was tied up and it was perfect. They don't need any more of it.

One of the most overrated shows of all time. The first season was ok I guess if you like heartwarming sitcoms full of pop culture references. After that, not even watchable.

Of course it got renewed. Even if the asking price is huge and I'm sure it was, Apple doesn't want the reputation of cancelling everything before it is truly done. And Ted Lasso is obviously not done yet, despite the ending of the last season.

Well hopefully it is more like TS4 (which was really good) than other shows/movies that really shouldn't have come back. Scrubs comes to mind that kept the same name, but there have been other redos/spinoffs like Three's a Crowd, Joey, Golden Palace etc.

To be fair, they actually never promoted S3 as the final season nor did they promote the final episode as the final episode.

That always to me hinted that it wasn't really over.

Interestingly, the book he was reading in the last episode was:

How To Change Your Mind: The New Science Of Psychedelics.

They had a third season? Ted lost me halfway through the second season. The first season was super, though. Positive and uplifting

We only made one episode of S3 ... ugh. Shows just don't know when to stop.
