Power button is one source and if you hold it and tap the camera lens autofocus system rattles. This is not new and has been on the last few iPhones.

When I tap the area between the apple logo and the camera, I can hear a quite disconcerting loose, rattling. A friend of mine has the same and I'd like to get a sense of just how many of us have this issue...

OP your battery adhesive is more than likely not settled or wasn't enough. The rattling in your phone is more than likely the battery loose in the housing. Take it to apple and swap it out.

Do the same but put your finger over the lock/power button while taping the back= Problem solved!

The sound comes from the lock button on the top!

You're shaking it wrong. :apple:

Don't be concerned. Enjoy your phone. Stop going on macrumors and wondering 'OMG DEAD PIXEL'.

There have been several reports of the battery not being stuck down good in many phones. Someone on here posted that he took his apart and fixed it.

Yeah, I first heard mine rattle when I tossed it on my bed. I did the same to my roommate's iPhone, and same thing. The camera lens thing does make perfect sense, so I'm fine with it. I'm sure if it was a problem with the battery or logic board, then the phone would've acted up by now, considering how much it moves around.

*My Droid X does the same thing, it's just much more quieter. Maybe that also helps explain why its photos were always subpar.
