shortly after, is normally the next day for laptops, The only laptop expected to get a huge overhaul is the macbook air. So if they tweak the pros or the basic macbooks, it should be available within a week.

Maybe they're setting up for a $200 across the board MBP price reduction next Wednesday, and someone accidently made it live for a few minutes. It would be nice, but most likely wishful thinking. As you said, we'll just have to wait.
I know it's been brought up before, but I've bought 2 13 inch mbp recently. one in june for 1049 + free ipod. And most recently about 1 month ago at microcenter. If you have a microcenter nearby, the 13inch MBP is a straight up 999 out the door... and the current 13 inch macbook white is 799 out the door.
You should be able to order online within a few hours of the announcement.
I checked how long it took for Mac computers to reach retail stores in New Zealand and its about 1 week from when new models are announced. Might be quicker for Apple Stores in the US.
Alright thanks for the help. Do you happen to know about when they might have in stock at Apple Retail Stores? Or if not, maybe when my computer would ship if I ordered online?
UPDATE: they are offering discounts "for students" (NOT on the education store). If you go through the purchase process notice that they don't ask for student info...or do they? I didn't see anything
this just proves that something weird is going on...
