shortly after, is normally the next day for laptops, The only laptop expected to get a huge overhaul is the macbook air. So if they tweak the pros or the basic macbooks, it should be available within a week.
So ur on ur computer and yur browsing the apple site wen the macbook pro price drops. U cannot believe it it n say wut r u doing wit ur prices, apple? U tell ur buddies on macrumors n they say ur wer on education website. THEN WHO WAS APPLE?
PAGE WITH DISCOUNT WAS NOT THE EDUCATION STORE. Let's just wait what happens wed. I just wanted to know if this had happened before.
Well yeah, but I thought we were talking about the baseline 13". I just bought one in July and the most I have seen off is $100, plus a free iPod.
You should be able to order online within a few hours of the announcement.
I checked how long it took for Mac computers to reach retail stores in New Zealand and its about 1 week from when new models are announced. Might be quicker for Apple Stores in the US.
UPDATE: they are offering discounts "for students" (NOT on the education store). If you go through the purchase process notice that they don't ask for student info...or do they? I didn't see anything
this just proves that something weird is going on...
check out the discounts:

Maybe they're setting up for a $200 across the board MBP price reduction next Wednesday, and someone accidently made it live for a few minutes. It would be nice, but most likely wishful thinking. As you said, we'll just have to wait.
