I would be astonished to see a 2nd gen AirPods Max in the next couple of years.

Got a problem with it?People are still buying the AirPods Max???
I see them everywhere in Australia. Second to the Sony XM4, which I have. But for me, it’s the connectivity (the Apple ecosystem) that is attractive. The XM4’s are annoying Versus my Powerbeats pros.People are still buying the AirPods Max???
Just because you can’t afford them doesn’t mean the price needs to be lowered. This is a luxury brand of headphones. Can’t afford them, then there are brands less expensive.Upcoming main selling feature for me: a lower price 💵
XM4s take a good half a minute to connect to my Macbook compared to almost instant Airpods and a couple of seconds for Bose QC35. Couple that with BT incompatibility on Samsung TVs, not being able to permanently turn off Speak-to-chat, finicky touch controls and muffled default sound profile (you almost have to use equliaizer) it's the most overrated pair of headphones I've ever owned. Both Airpods and Bose are so much better it's not even close. The only big con for Airpods Max I'd say is that stupid case.I see them everywhere in Australia. Second to the Sony XM4, which I have. The market doesn’t need a £599 pair of headphones when inflation is rampant and the cost of gas surging. Apple should price these at £299

So basically release AirPods Max mini. apple is not reducing the price of headphones by 50%.Apple made the same mistake with the max as it did with the original HomePod - the market didn’t need a high end speaker. It needed an iOT presence in every room. It got that wrong and also these. The market doesn’t need a £599 pair of headphones when inflation is rampant and the cost of gas surging. Apple should price these at £299 - they’d sell a mountain and drive brand recognition just like beats did 10 years ago. Price is ridiculous for what they offer.
Different strokes for different folks. Totally ambivalent about usb-c.At this point, I'm applying this rule to all new Apple products.
Because both times I’ve bought a pair of AirPods Max from an Apple Store (I returned them the first time with noise cancellation issues) they’ve come out of the box with a completely flat battery. I’ve not had that with any other Apple product, and it suggests to me that they’ve been sat in the stock room for a significant amount of time. People aren’t buying them. Why?
It's true about the HomePod, but they already do have a full range of AirPods covering the entire price range and offering plenty of brand presence. And they still own Beats, so why compete with that? And unlike the HomePod, these seem to be doing well.
I don't see any advantage for Apple to sell cheaper ones, even if there is obviously demand.
