The greater the depth of discharge, the fewer cycles it will last. It is also best not to fully charge a Li-ion battery, or if you do, not to hold it at fully charged for too long.

In practice, you don't realistically have much choice or control. Just be aware that (nearly) fully discharging it every day is not the best recipe for long battery life.

Thanks. Looks like 40% DoD or around that is the sweet spot.

Just remember that the benefit of less DoD is partially offset by having to do more charge cycles. So if halving the DoD is achieved by charging twice as often, the net improvement in life is not as much. Also, if by doing so, you keep the battery near 100% for longer, this is also damaging.
Ideally you keep the charge level within 10% of 50% all the time. Which is totally impractical.
The only practical thing is to just avoid repetitive deep discharges.

Agree. Interesting to see that the 80% DoD to 40% DoD results in 3X charging cycles. So theoretically we are charging twice as much going from 40% to 80%, but the battery longevity goes 3X. Going to try around with different times to see what makes the most sense to me. I don't wear it to bed and overnight drop is around 12% (thinking of turning it off during the night). During the day, I average about 4% every hours. So 16 hours of wake time means 64% battery consumption which means with it turned off during the night, I can't do a full 24-hour cycle. Will have to play around and see what works best.
