This has not been my experience, either, as others have noted. Works easily 95+% of the time for me. Maybe once per month of driving the car multiple times daily does it fail to unlock in proximity to my phone.trunk has been ok, the driver door, 80% of the time fails to unlock. It also doesn't switch driver profiles about 90% of the time.
Except the response to the posts you quoted include evidence to the contrary. Telsa internal documents refer to the body style refresh as "Highland" and the Tesla press has been referring to it as such for almost a year now. Though Telsa doesn't publicly refer to it as such. And again: there’s no Model 3 Highland. There’s a new Model 3. The codename Highland doesn’t exist.
Apple Watch works for me, via a third party app. I’d prefer proper support from Tesla though. If you could use your watch as a key, that would be actually useful.
I do this with the app Stats! If you could use your watch as a key, that would be actually useful.
I like CarPlay in my work car but the Tesla interface is way better. With the Apple Music integration in Tesla CarPlay is not needed.
yes. I am 100% sure I correctly set it up. have had 4 different iPhones, set it up at least 20+ times, even enabled the new motion activity feature where Tesla tracks your iPhones motion to decide whether or not to unlockMine works 99%+ of time, very rarely I ran into issues. Are you sure you set up correctly on your phone like enable background refresh for Tesla app…etc?
Your car could have a bad BT antenna. Maybe put in a service request.yes. I am 100% sure I correctly set it up. have had 4 different iPhones, set it up at least 20+ times, even enabled the new motion activity feature where Tesla tracks your iPhones motion to decide whether or not to unlock
it's not just me. even happened to Linus when he was shooting the intro to his Model 3 video. it literally happened on camera (watch the intro)
I have a late year 2023 build Model 3. My now old phone an xs max worked about 99% of the time. My new phone a 15PM works 90%, wet finger n the air, of the time.yes. You can have CarPlay / android auto & android os in center screen of a Tesla Via Tesla Android Project. I have used carplay for 1.5 years In my tesla. I find the do it yourself raspberry pi route works better than premade bundle but if your car is older than 2021 model then you need to use premade. Bundle or there will be extreme lag. There are other devices that put CarPlay in center screen. I also have a behind the wheel screeen which is gaUge readouta or CarPlay or android auto.Who cares. Give me CarPlay. I'm selling my Tesla when I get back from Europe in July. Just can't deal with the miserable Tesla interface. Three years without CarPlay has done me in.
We'll see what 2025 cars come out in the fall.
that evidence doesn't prove much. it's entirely possible employees read rumors and named the files in that way. same way with the press.Except the response to the posts you quoted include evidence to the contrary. Telsa internal documents refer to the body style refresh as "Highland" and the Tesla press has been referring to it as such for almost a year now. Though Telsa doesn't publicly refer to it as such.
But saying "new Model 3" is not really helpful, as someone could own a very new Model 3 but not the 2024 refresh.... aka "Highland."
Kind of like when people referred to the various model PowerBooks by their codenames like "Pismo". It was never called "PowerBook Pismo" but techies knew what you were referring to.
already did. they found no issue and is working normal.Your car could have a bad BT antenna. Maybe put in a service request.
There must be something unique to either your car or your phone since for the vast majority of people it’s reliable. Sorry it’s working so poorly for you.already did. they found no issue and is working normal.
I have a late 2021 build date model y, Bluetooth key via iPhone 13 Pro max & 15 pro max work very well.
majority? sure. but I can easily find thousands of reports of this happening. it's not unique to me, but rather we are technically a minority, sure. There must be something unique to either your car or your phone since for the vast majority of people it’s reliable. What I find most interesting is when people get the fob they report it working just fine, even though the fobs all use BLE only now. So if the problem was the car the fob shouldn't work either.majority? sure. but I can easily find thousands of reports of this happening. it's not unique to me, but rather we are technically a minority, sure.
sure, it's probably iPhone doing some power saving, but again, it's not a unique problem to me personally. What I find most interesting is when people get the fob they report it working just fine, even though the fobs all use BLE only now. So if the problem was the car the fob shouldn't work either.
Of course, I 100% remember all the original phone as key complaints. Tesla never planned to make a fob for the 3/Y and when they did it wasn't passive (I still have one). I just found it interesting that most peoples problems went away when they switched to the fob, it isn't infallible though; I can get mine (have a passive one too) to not work in some situations.sure, it's probably iPhone doing some power saving, but again, it's not a unique problem to me personally.
