To echo others, this is one of the first times since 2007 I’ve wished I could switch easily to another phone, if not for the ecosystem I would move to something like this, I miss the cutting edge, let alone bleeding edge. Time to make a move Apple or start losing a few, maybe not a massive percentage, but a few who came to you for your innovation.

gah so clunky. Need a folding phone half the size. i dont want or need an ipad in my back pocket, but i do want an iphone that fits in my pocket

How small are your pockets that your current iPhone doesn’t fit in them? You know the little ticket stub pocket in Jeans isn’t the one you’re meant to put your phone in right?

I’m giving Apple till September, if they don’t have one to offer me, I’m out. These are way too nice to not have the option to buy. Android be damned.
IMO, Android is not the dumpster fire many here claim it is. I recently returned to iPhone after a decade on Android, and I don't find this huge chasm between iOS and Android. You should feel free to embrace the technology that appeals to you and your wallet without fear of being stuck with an "inferior" OS.

just regular sized pockets,. Im european so our pockets are smaller than American sized pockets. iphone mini fits great, iphone pro (weighs a tonne) and doesn't fit right. Simple, really.

But anyway I struggle to see the joined up thinking whereby the goal is to make slimmer phones and miniturise everything but than blow it all by basically gluing 2 phones to gether, Why not capitalise on this and use it to make a normal phone half the size ? instead of a ipad tablet half the size.

I’m UK based, a slimmer built person, I wear fitted/tighter clothes in general and an iPhone Pro Max fits in my pockets just fine…

That does it! I'm getting rid of 4 MacBooks, two Mac Minis, two iPhones, two iPads, three Apple Watches, two Apple TV's, Two AirPods, and my HomePod Mini and get an Android flip phone. Said no one ever.

My first cellphone was a flip phone. A Motorola something or other. It was the worst piece of crap I've owned since I scrapped our 1973 Dodge Swinger back in 1976! We're never, ever getting back together (with a flip phone)!

I tried a Samsung fold 6 a few months ago. Loved the hardware, android was absolute trash though. Photos is terrible, no voicemail out of the box, chrome doesn’t allow you to have a search bar at the bottom etc etc etc. it’s trash without a doubt. But I’ll get used to it.

i'll let yo into a secret. No it doesn't . It looks ridiculous. When you can see the outline of a phone pressing through your clothes it's Too Big (tm).
Let you into a bigger secret, we all carry phones, we all know what they look like, and it being visible is only something that looks ridiculous in your opinion, to me it just looks like a person carrying a phone.

In all fairness apart from a very niche group of people not many have that many products from a single ecosystem, nor would they care, so bit of a moot point.

Bigger issue of switching for me is genuinely losing native AirPod support and iMessage. Anything else is just by the by. My MacBook works fine with or without my phone being of the same brand.

The screen proportion for the folded version and unfolded version of these kinds of phones has never made much sense.

I’m hoping this pushes Apple to develop more. I have owned every iPhone since the start and remember the days of true change and innovation in each new model. Lately I feel each model just adds some small little feature rather than something that is a true change.

Maybe I just got used to it lol. I did find Samsung's take on Android to be a bit bloated, with too many doubled-up apps with their own branding. I always used Google Photos and Google Drive. Mobile Chrome has always been meh for me. My experience with Pixels was first rate, though, especially with photography and call screening.

I’ve never owned an Android phone but a relative asked me to look at their Samsung phone because they were being bombarded with fake virus alerts. I tried for hours but couldn’t figure out how to stop the alerts. I don’t know if this a general Android problem but I’ve never had anything like that on my iPhone.

Everyone I’ve talked to who uses android is like oh yeah Google photos is junk, I don’t use it. Why would you want your search bar at the bottom etc etc. They talk a big game about customization but it’s not always the case. Also, how bad is the software that you have to choose the version you like best. It’s a real mess.

I’m still not sold on foldables. People don’t seem to mention that the crease itself is a point of failure and degrades from daily use. Samsungs are basically unsellable after a year of use due to this and the return rate due to screen failure is huge.
