Wow, what a battle of wits I stumbled into.
I'll explain myself one more time, and try to talk slower...

Unless you are really worried about cost, I would steer clear from jailbroken tethering apps.
How perversely wrong you are - you SAVE $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
with a jailbroken phone. You can use miwi - and not PAY A MONTHLY TETHERING FREE
This was amazing, you are actually agreeing with my opinion but telling me I'm wrong.
If you are worried about cost, you want to jailbreak because it saves money.
See how that works???
😉
They cost money and depend on the jailbreak community to update when Apple updates their os.
I JUST POSTED A LINK TO FREE TETHERING FOR THE IPHONE - YES I AM YELLING! Updates?! it still works on every version of the iOS - stop lying!
If Apple updates the iOS, you have to wait until the jailbreak community to update their jailbreak if you want to use that version of iOS.
You can happily use the old one but if you update you will lose the jailbreak.
Am I incorrect? I guess you could post a link but how about explaining how I am wrong. I've been jailbreaking since the iPhone 3G and unless something has changed, whenever Apple updates, you need to re-jailbreak.
Not sure what your link to free tethering has to do with my statement, but let's continue...
If AT&T finds a new way to detect tethering and makes you get the plan anyway, is MyWi or PDANet going to refund your money???
One month of tethering is more money than the cost of a tethering app from cydia lol - how wrong wrong wrong u are - refund your $$$$?
jesus christ - does apple refund your money when an app stops working?
Again, that is the weakest straw man argument I have seen. Read what I said. If, "IF" AT&T changes your plan due to tethering, and you haven't pirated MyWi (this seems to be your biggest issue), you lost the money you paid the tethering, jailbreak only app.
I never mentioned anything about cost or how paying them is a better deal.
Remember, I am replying to a poster about a situation I was in and gave my opinion.
This wasn't the iPad Hack forum, I was guessing he wanted a legit way to tether.
My phone is jailbroken, I have used MyWi before, I realize that you can pirate those apps.
I could care less who tethers legit or not legit. I wasn't pointing any fingers.
But even you would agree that if he jailbroke his phone, and paid (or pirated) a tether app, AT&T could find out about it within a day and he would end up with their tethering plan anyway.
If the money saved by jailbreaking is worth that risk, which to many it is, go right ahead.
