Ok, so WTF does that mean. I read that has he's running the older OS too. Instead of being a Pr*ck and giving a sarcastic answer, why dont you elaborate or just keep your mouth shut.

What is sarcastic in my statement..? and where does he state he's running an older OS?

Are you really saying you don't know what a backup is? or how you restore one on the iPhone?

You must have noticed when itunes says 'backing up iphone', no? Or at least when you restore have you noticed 'set up as new' or 'restore from backup'?

When you backup your documents on your computer, does it also backup the operating system?

I'm not sure how clearer I could have made it- I had a jb'ed 3GS with a tether hack. I think it was the benm. I upgraded to 4.0 gm on my 3GS, then the released 4.0. Then when I got my iPhone 4, I restored from the last backup of the 3GS and I still have the tether hack. In fact, my 3GS was jb'ed on 3.1.x, but I didn't jb for the 4.0 gm or the released 4.0.

OK, Thanks for the clarification.
I would love to do this too but I need MyWi to use with my iPad.
Hopefully 4.0 will be JB in the next few weeks. I have the ben.m tether hack and would like to carry it over to the new iPhone 4.

we have seen quite a few hacked carrier settings carry through on backups to stock FW's, interesting that it was saved through the GM + onto the iphone4 though.

I tried this and it didn't work for me. I made a backup is my 3GS on 3.1.2 with the peacefullnsanity carrier, the I restored my iPhone 4 with the 3GS backup. The tethering option shows up, I can turn it on and select USB tether, then shortly after it quits and goes back to the setup Internet tethering option. But hey, it was worth a shot!

Hi. The question is, is the tethering functionality actually usable? (Did you try it Bluetooth/USB and did it actually work?) When I tried this (I had the old benm on my iPhone 3G) I connected to tether via USB and it crapped out on me. Much as Zratm described.

Oh yeah, and bump. :)
