No, I did not solve the issue.

UltraNEO, I have a 3007WFP and there is no such menu button option on the monitor itself.

Hello. I've been experiencing a some of the same issues as yourself, I have both an ADC30 and DELL side by side and they're both on the same system. Looking and comparing the text to each display the DELL does indeed appear slightly blurry/ghosting.

After some tweaking on the actual monitor via it's menu, I've managed to solve the blurry text issue. So, Forget tweaking the colour profile for a moment.

Out of curiosity what are your 3008WFP monitor settings, set to?

You need to hit the Menu button on the display and shift the cursor to Preset Modes. I use mine for Graphics and Video editing, so my setting are:

I've discovered if you set up your monitor for any other value, other then Custom RGB, the text display will be a little blurry with a slight ghosting around the fonts.

Hope this helps you.
It's not a screen grab but a actual photo of the screen hence the RGB effect.. Have a look at the text...

UltraNEO, what is the default Dell 3008WFP preset value? Can you post a photo of the screen with RGB vs the default one (which causes bluriness)?

Also after you changed the present to RGB, would you say that the text sharpness is identical between the ACD and the Dell, or is the ACD still slightly crisper?

I have the 3007WFP that does not have a button to change the preset and I'm looking for some sort of software solution. After upgrading to Snow Leopard, the bluriness has gone from bad to worse. I might have to sell my Dell and go with the ACD if I don't come up with a solution quickly.

Thanks.

Here is the latest blurriness thanks to the Snow Leopard upgrade. I had gotten it to be somewhat tolerable with Leopard but SL screwed it up again.

I might have to cave in and get the ACD and get rid of relatively new 3007WFP.

blurred text on Dell 3008 30 inch screen on Snow Leopard

I have the same issue..it is a corruption issue with the driver and the cure is simple if a bit annoying. On startup, just use the drop down monitor menu which you might want to have showing on the top screen area and switch the monitor res down to 1920 and allow it to show on screen at that res and then go back to the 2560 res...problem solved. I do this each time I start and the corruption does not return during the use of the computer but it returns yet again on a restart. It is annoying but not that annoying...The fonts are perfect at the smallest point and sharp as can be. I also used a Huey calibration for the two screens that I do use..both Dell since Apple chose to deliver only glossy screens that I hate. In any case, Apple no longer makes a large screen so there is no choice really at a price point as good as the Dell. I understand that this monitor is now defunct and the newer one has a narrower ADOBE RGB bandwidth which is a shame. Glad I got mine before the dropped the model. In any case, an LCD screen does not get blurred except by errors in software. It is inherently digital and a pixel is either on or off...I can only suggest trying my methodology and see if it works...I suggest it will.
