To those of you that have returned the iPhone X or held off on purchasing one... Thank you!

I am looking forward to buying one eventually, but I would like to wait for the price to come down a bit so if the sales numbers decrease sooner and Apple gets an influx of returns, I expect to see a deal like “trade old iPhone get $500 towards X.”

Thanks again!

In the middle of several books.
If you want to try and get a good deal, get your post count up enough where you can view the Marketplace, as well as checking out the Apple refurbished store and Swappa later on, when most people have gone past their return date.

I’ll say, each location I have been at the turnout is huge. Except the 5th Avenue store in NYC, there are not any words to describe that turnout. Just a BIG WOW!
haha. yeah.

i stayed inside two days this weekend.
Friday because of NYC iPhone launch..
today because of NYC Marathon..

;)

(i'm not really a fan of huge crowds)

No problem, bro.

I just canceled my Best Buy pre-order at the Yorba Linda store like 1 hr ago. Had my name attached to it. Silver X. I just stopped liking the color.

Felt a little bad but X just doesn't feel right at that price for the features it offers and I already canceled my Verizon account again the other night.

At least I didn't scalp it. A person who wants it can really get it for the real price. Maybe if the price gets lower, I will get a space gray X from Verizon.

You're welcome.

Prices on iPhones never come down until an updated model is released. What you're saying is ridiculous nonsense.

Apple has dropped the price once before. I really do think we need to get the price back down a bit in 6 months maybe cut $100/US off the price. Thats only possible with early adopters.

True, but sometimes carriers have promos on them and also many retailers have Black Friday sales or other sales throughout the year.
Probably not going to happen with a product that's both in high demand and one of the best selling Apple products in recent history. Sales are for excess inventory and promos are to lure in new customers during a product launch (for carriers). Given the 4-5 week wait on an iPhone X, we can eliminate a sale. Promos are only applied as trade-ins, new customers, etc. Anyway, relying on either of these to see a meaningful decrease in price just isn't going to happen. This is a $1200 phone that's sold out. High demand for the most expensive smartphone on the market does not equal upcoming discounts.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out the point of this thread.

Makes no sense. Maybe it's just some kid dreaming of owning one, cheap some day. That's cool

Good luck.

It happened on many previous years.
Promos and sales are not only applied and available to what you think or what you feel will or will not happen.

Okay, well, I'm sure you'll find a ton of iPhone X 'deals and steals' very soon. Good luck.

I have my iPhone 7+ with a cracked screen on eBay and am amazed as each bid comes in....

Glad I didn't go the trade-in route this year.

Just shocking how Apple products hold their values. You won't get a 'cheap' iPhone X for quite a while. Bought my mom a iPhone 5 last year and hell even that was in the mid $100s.

Dont get too excited.
Ebay is scammers heaven.
You might get people bidding like crazy and then not paying or trying to rip you after once you ship out.
Be very careful and have plenty of proof incase they open a dispute once they receive it.
Im never selling an iphone on ebay again. It was a nightmare before.

It happened many times in the past for Black Friday and Christmas deals so it might happen again.
If not it may be for the iPhone 8 if the iPhone x stock is still very limited. Your guess is as good as mine.
We are both guessing but you are somehow insisting that your guess is a fact and that it never happens when in fact it does happen.
And price drops and specials on iphones is not ridiculous nonsense as you claimed above.

You are correct and this is an anniversary phone which makes it a special edition phone. Doubt the price will decrease especially with demand so high. You might hear people saying I wanna return my X but bet you won’t get it back the moment you change your mind again after you walk out that door.

So for the people who think the X size is so “ideal”....would you have felt the same way if an X plus had been offered alongside the regular X? Please. The plus version would have been the preferred choice. Lmao. It would have been the sold out version. No one has a choice because the X was only offered in one size...

Oh believe me, I know the eBay crap. Ive gotten 5 messages already with broken English: 'hallo. please send phone to XXXX address India and i will then wire funds via courier to your united states.'

Which is why I resorted to simply trading it in and taking ~$100 less. Decided to bite the bullet and battle through eBay this time.

Agreed, sometimes it's better to take a price cut versus losing your product and all your money together from somebody that's trying to fraud you.

Yep. lost an Xbox 360 and $300 that way. Stupid me didn't get a tracking number back then, but smart 2017 me learned my lesson. As long as they pay, i'll be happy. I think eBay/PayPal made some improvements for finally protecting the seller.

- Take pics of phone/video of boxing
-Receipt
- US buyers only
-Showing that phone works
-Etc etc....
