I don’t expect Black Friday deals. We have already had a few ads leak and the only phone related anything is $50 off of iPhone 7 from Costco. The only new Apple product I’ve really ever seen discounted on Black Friday was the Current gen Apple Watch.

I’d be perfectly happy if they had a discount. My wife would probably get one at that point too. I just don’t see it. But hey, here’s to hoping I guess.

Yep. lost an Xbox 360 and $300 that way. Stupid me didn't get a tracking number back then, but smart 2017 me learned my lesson. As long as they pay, i'll be happy. I think eBay/PayPal made some improvements for finally protecting the seller.

- Take pics of phone/video of boxing
-Receipt
- US buyers only
-Showing that phone works
-Etc etc....

I hear you, same here I lost a nice external dvd recorder and got many people try to scam me with iphone sales.
Claiming is not as described to try to get it cheaper, returning it with an empty box and all kinds of crazyness.
Not only ended up losing the phone but also lost money on top of it paying for shipping. Never again...

I wasn’t looking last year since I didn’t want a 7 hahaha. Previous years they hadn’t done anything beyond what carriers were doing.

$29 off is worse than they’ve done for Apple Watch every year. Maybe I just brush “deals” like that off because if I have to fight a crowd of rabid Americans to save $30 I’d rather just not deal with it.

Regardless I wasnt trying to argue....

No argument, just saying there was and will be specials.
Many previous years they had various sales and deals also.
Maybe you were not actively seeking them either but $250 free gift cards and other price reductions are nice😉

I just browsed the target ad. $250 but only on the 8 🙁
Also no AW deals from them.

I still have my money on the discounts all going to the 8. Obviously we will ha e to see. Best Buy and Walmart still need to release their ads I think.

Sure, but that's still not a price reduction. It's a store credit. Anyway, if you're struggling to pay for a phone and waiting for a $250 store credit, you probably should buy a phone you can afford.

I hear you, if you were planning on purchasing anyway and can wait a few weeks you can get some decent savings though.
And if you normally shop at Target or Walmart for example those gift card can come handy even though its not a direct price reduction/cut its still money you would have spend.
I rather get that than nothing at all 😉

To those of you that have returned the iPhone X or held off on purchasing one... Thank you!

I am looking forward to buying one eventually, but I would like to wait for the price to come down a bit so if the sales numbers decrease sooner and Apple gets an influx of returns, I expect to see a deal like “trade old iPhone get $500 towards X.”

Thanks again!

Apple does not have a reputation for dropping prices between cycles. However, Best Buy, Costco, etc. might do it of sales do indeed lag at all after the holidays.

Nah.....Ebay = buyer has all the power. YOu could do all the things you mention and IF the buyer wants his money back for any reason they will get it no matter what.
