i still say it won't be until Jan. at Macworld. that's a major event. it makes no sense to come out with redesigned laptops in mid Oct.. stranger things have happen, but i don't think the 14th is it either. i can't wait until "snow" leopard is released. that will be a good day for all. hopefully!:D
The past two Mac redesigns have happened at times other than MWSF.

3. They released the aluminum iMacs one month before Leopard's release. You did not receive an upgrade to Leopard automatically. You got Tiger.
It's closer to 3 months.

looking at past updates, I noticed that the macbooks have usually been updated between september and november. that's a good sign...

also, apple stated that they plan to eliminate plastics from their products by the end of 2008.

in conclusion, I have no doubt that the macbooks will be updated before the year is out. why not October 14th?

(I know that this post pertains more to the plastic macbooks than the pros, but not updating the pros before Christmas would be silly. why not update them with the macbooks? :p)

Well...

I just think that it's not worth waiting. Get the current one! It's a great computer and will be for years! It's a Mac! The classic all-silver design looks great, and there's nothing wrong with the 8600 GT nowadays. I got mine in January (obviously just before the Penryn ones came out) and it has a 100% working GPU. My dad has two others from the same generation - all working 100% with no GPU issues.
Did I care when the Penryn model came out three weeks after I got mine? No.
Unless you're desperate to have the very latest thing from Apple because it makes you feel better or something, there's really nothing wrong with getting the current generation MBP. A computer is a computer, and you won't be using it for the rest of your life. It's inevitable that your Mac will be superseded by a better one. Deal with it.

Will you post this opinion in every topics of this forum ?

If I say 'yes' will you kill me? :p

I just got lazy and used  + C

It would be cool if the new design comes out this month. Two of my friends are desperately waiting for it (and following this website). One of them is a Windows soon-to-be switcher.

No, but I just think that such a remark is useless in a topic where everybody is obviously waiting for the new release.

Apple is getting out the computer business to concentrate on gadgets and toys. Removing Computer from the corporate name was a sign of this to everyone except the blind and colorful sugar water cultists. Apple Inc. will spin off the computer biz next year and Woz will be the CEO. Woz actually likes computers and the people that use them.

One of his first actions as CEO of Apple Conmputer will be to stop charging customers twice as much as other computer makers for kit with the exact same components. Woz will also stop putting two generation old video cards in computers that can't have their video cards upgraded.

After this article posted at AI, there could be some truth here. Coincidence, maybe. I find it hilarious

Apples stock is tumbling

Compare their computers to other companies, they are getting slaughtered they need a hardware refresh badly or the stock will fall even more.

I dont think they will release the 14th but i think they will spec bump the computers soon

All makers, hell everyone is getting hit in the market right now. Apple had a record quarter for Macbook sales. Only a very small % on sites like this care or even know about the rumors/refresh. Their stock might continue to fall, but it has very little (most like nothing) to do with the current lineup of Macs.

i know that,
im talking about the specs of their machines, seriously they really lack a new re-design.

I work for sony, they are refreshing their WHOLE line which has 3 all in ones
and like 5 different laptop series's that they sell directly.

Apple has
IMAC,MACpro,MACMINI,Macbook Air and mpb and mb

thats 6 computers total

and the mini hasnt been refreshed in ages.

HORRIBLE.

Apple and RIM need to start being more straight froward about their product realeases dont even get me started on the ATT black berry bold.

Like it says IMHO. My reasoning...
1. There's not much advancement in technology. Yeah, glass touch pad, Blue ray, yady, yady yah. Not really enough to bring a new laptop with Snow leapord out in (6-9 months?).
2 With a new OS just around the corner, I cant imagine a company bringing out a new book, and release a new OS a year later?
3. There was more hype about the iPhone months before release with a lot more proven facts. They had proof of shipment to the US on Macrumors a week or two before the release.
4. Lack of false advertisement. I've seen a total of 3 "New MBP's" that yeah they could be pics of a new one, but realistically there's usually a lot more photoshopping going on than there is right now. I dont think there's enough belief even.

If they do have an Oct 14 release, then DAMN. Apple needs to teach the Military about "Loose lips sinks ships."

Dont get me wrong. I'm on the Band Wagon for Oct 14, but seriously having my doubts right now. Maybe I'm just PMSing

I disagree, call me crazy... but I think they WILL be released on the 14th;)

It's less about their outdated hardware and more about the rest of the economy.
