revaleted, just found your review on YouTube. :)

That's some pretty good sleuthing work. Especially considering this username isn't anywhere on my YouTube profile - at least I don't think it is.

You can't do audio work on laptop speakers, forget it. It will do more harm then good.

And you want do it in a properly treated room btw, not just anywhere.

Better get some professional headphones if you don't intend to use it in a studio.

You misunderstand. I don't edit with the speakers. I edit with some Sennhausers. But the thing is, the people who will listen to the music are going to be listening on a wide variety of hardware. As a result I often listen to the same song both in and out of headphones to see the differences in quality. I know it's going to be night and day that way, but it also lets me see just what the quality of the laptop speakers is compared to a good set of headphones.

As I said, I've owned laptops with kickin speakers, so it's not impossible.

I'm simply saying the 13" has some tinny speakers; the 15" don't sound much better. The 17" sounds superior to the other two, but no, I wouldn't favor it over a stereo system or a good pair of headphones. All I'm saying is that the 17" blows the other two out of the water...and it does.

1: Why is it that Apple trackpad clicks get louder as the MBP size gets bigger? I had a 13" where the track pad click was barely audible. The 15" was a little louder, and the 17" is so darn loud I feel like strangling myself. It's like the innards are hollow, yet I know they aren't.

The 17"'s terribly loud trackpad was deal breaker for me.

Opened at least three machines, all of them with this awful loud click - even a double-click when released.

Nah Apple, you have to do better to get my money. Even the 13" and the 15" can do then also the 17" shall do.
