Man of the match, the woodwork I might say and I am a red

It's true. Everton though have been lacking finishers up front for a bit though as we'll. Jelavic seems to have disappeared the past two months on top of it. Hoping tight strings Kenwright will open the check book this transfer window, that's if he didn't already take out huge loans already on a hope they make champions league and its money.

If Fellaini played Everton would've won. Jelavic is off the pace and no more Cahill. They need a striker.

QPR going down. I just don't see a way out even after January. Really wish Southampton stay up though.

Fellaini might of made a difference but with the way luck was going today it's hard to say. I hope Jelavic gets back his scoring ways when he came in last year. I don't think Cahill would of made a difference today, he was at his tail end last year already. He was a leader just no longer possessed his form.

How was Aiden White's (Leeds) challenge on Elmohamady (Hull) not a red card?
That's not the question that's been asked, instead there's moaning from those of a West Yorkshire persuasion over why he came back on the pitch without the referee waving him back on.

This was despite the referee clearly waving him back on. Heh. :D

The match official certainly wasn't a homer and indulged our visitors a great deal. However, we were ace so it didn't matter. :)

Cash Converters nonsense aside, it's a very good year for Tigers supporters. Up in 2nd!!

Santa brought me a new Columbus Crew home shirt, so I can retire my 2008 championship year shirt for special occasions only. It was getting a little beat up.

Lots of folks do this... why?

you could also use "might've" or "would've" ...

Hapi 2013 lads!

Hopefully a good day of footy coming later on. Would like 3pts from St. Mary's to ring in the year please. Cheers.

Still hurts knowing we sold the best player in the league to a rival club. *sigh* its just unforgivable.

EDIT: Southampton deserve to win this game. We have been dire.

Selling RVP was something the club had to do if he wanted to go - but I'm still a little shocked that Arsenal let him go to Man U. A top four club should never, ever sell a world-class player to a direct rival unless they are offered Crispy Ronaldo-levels of money for him. It's crazy. As far as I'm concerned, Man Utd absolutely stole him at 24-odd million pounds.

Agreed and now he's on course to hand Utd the title. Meanwhile we look to the deadly Gervinho (since Walcott is likely the next exit candidate) to bang in those goals for us so we can scrape fourth . Yep sounds about right.

He's already at 19 goals for the season, which puts him a a little over a million pounds per goal - so far; I'm sure he'll score more. Most wealthier teams would kill to get that kind of value for money. All I can do is shake my head at whoever thought it was a good idea to let him go to Manchester. Surely someone in Europe made a decent bid for him?

City and Juventus made a bid but he didn't want to go to City and someone upstairs thought Juve's bid was too low. Then Utd swooped in with the highest bid after Fergie asked thei board to move for him...and the rest is history.

Out of everyone thats left his move annoys me the most. Don't care about Clichy/Nasri, Barca bench warmer Fabregas has been mitigated by Cazorla, and Wilshere/Arteta have covered for Song.

But him...at the very peak of his powers too...and to a rival club no less...its just criminal and outright unforgivable. We are not a club starved for £24 million i'd rather they'd let him see out his contract with us. But whatever, its gone now.

EDIT: Speaking of transfers, looks like the Sturridge deal is done. Also Chelsea have triggered Ba's clause. Meanwhile we are looking for another bargain striker in Adrian Lopez. Yeah...

So does Chelsea actually really plan with Ba, or is he just a cheap "alternative" to Torres, who ends up on the bench/stands like Marin?

Haven't followed up on him ever since he left the Bundesliga, and he wasn't an easy person to deal with back then(he wanted to go to Stuttgart, caused a scene at Hoffenheim only to fail the medical and go to Newcastle), surprisingly that doesn't seem to have changed.

In other news, to my surprise the van der Vaart marriage is done for

Actually, as the league's joint leading scorer, perhaps Ba will relegate Torres to the bench.

It's no more strange than Sturridge going to Liverpool. He wants more first team football but doesn't want to play out wide. Can't see Rodgers pushing Suarez out wide or putting him on the bench, so it'll be ineteresting to see what happens there...

I don't mean to be offensive but it was no secret that RvP wanted to lift some Silverware. It was Arsenal's lack of Silverware that made his going a certainty.

He said that his move to United was motivated by this and not the money.

But I can understand how as an Arsenal fan you see it some what differently.

Have to agree. At 29 and with dwindling playing time at the highest level, if he wanted to win silverware, it wasn't going to happen at Arsenal.

Without trying to kick you while you're down, Man U haven't been a rival or Arsenal for a few seasons now.

I know why RVP left, that much is crystal clear to everyone. But at the end of the day the club is to blame by not locking him up in a long-term contract early and by cashing in to a rival club (Utd and Arsenal still compete in the exact same competitions regardless of squad strength/recent success). IMHO.

That's one way of looking at it. Or they could have invested more in new players, won things, and made a lot of Arsenal fans happy ;)

Arguably no point investing in new players to strengthen if you can't even keep hold of your existing best ones as soon as they peak. At that point you're just rebuilding a sand castle.

But whatever, topic has dragged one. Was just wondering 'what if' when i saw RVP's goal yesterday. However, the reality is he a Utd player now. End of story. Football moves on.
