I'm sure Steve will be back in the KC's corporate boxes in a week or two whilst he plots his next move.

Watching DFB-Pokal 4th final.

3rd Bundesliga Offenbach vs. 1. Bundesliga Wolfsburg.

Offenbach won last two matches with 2:0

They are doin a good job and playing really nice, wonderful to watch at times. First goal for them was possible after 12 Seconds :D

You can watch online stream on sportschau.de or google ARD sportschau live stream Offenbach Wolfsburg.

I'm a real Pepe hater here, but that was a good game yesterday! Good to see Varane constantly playing high quality (means less Pepe too)!

Maybe most Barca players had too many tapas in the last years. But let's not forget how Real sucked in the league..so yeah, looked a bit like they didn't really care. Probably they need some fresh blood. Neymar + Falcao would do. Maybe Hummels and Ter Stegen, too. ;)

Barca have been so good for so long it has to end sometime. Maybe this is not the turning point, but their form has definitely dropped. The absence of the manager is probably a factor here, if not the only one.

If they keep playing like this, Milan with certainly waltz through their CL second leg tie.

I'm also of the camp which thinks this is not the end of Barcelona, every team has it's off days. But that it happened at Nou Camp and against the old enemy that's what is hurting at Barca right now.

Yes, may be. But let's ot forget that they play against each other next weekend again, Milan inbetween + Real definitely has to prove sth. against Barca, not the other way around. So I suspect they play hard agains Milan, whatever that means for Barca. If I recall correctly it was last year the same, Chelsea battle inbetween two 'Clasicos', so bad timing too.

Anyway, I liked watching Khedira and Özil playing fine yesterday..

Btw. today is the German 'Klassiker' taking place: Bayern - Dortmund in the cup. Will be interesting to follow as well. First real opponent for Bayern in a long time.

This is the end of the season where things start to get a bit boring...all of the usual suspects across Europe are poised to take another league and/or European title to add to their bloated trophy cabinets, the same top managers and players are linked with summer moves to the same super-wealthy clubs.

I think the beginning of the season is actually more exciting, because you get that false hope that there will be some big surprises in store down the road....always disappointed of course. ;)

The few scraps of truly interesting news are: Swansea and Bradford's League Cup final, Real Madrid potentially finishing outside the top 2 in Spain, finding out which big English club misses out on the CL spots and the potential of a biggish club getting relegated.

their last 4 opponents were: Bremen, Arsenal, Wolfsburg and Schalke

sure Bremen is in a slump because of lack of funds and average rooster
Arsenal and Schalke are CL Teams
Wolfsburg has boat load of funds and their squad is better than their current league position indicates

it's gonna be a challenging game for both sides

KNVB Beker

PEC Zwolle 0 vs PSV 3

PEC's run in the Beker came to end tonight, there was no story book ending, PSV did what they had to do.

In another thread I mentioned that Sunday Jerremain Lens from PSV has been in an incident, well the KNVB has given him a four match ban. Score one for equality, the press coverage about the lack of discipline from the KNVB, forced their hand.

Jozy Altidore has a history of petulant fouls leading to occasional red cards. Given the clampdown on bad behavior happening in Dutch football I hope he behaves himself.

KNVB Beker

Ajax 0 vs AZ67 3

Well Lord Blackadder Jozy Altidore has put AZ in the final against PSV.

Tonight he scored the first and the third goal, in a match which only came alive in the second half.

Rafa Benitez is not god's gift to football management, but Chelsea fans are only hurting themselves by ragging on Benitez so much - and not having the cojones to direct their complaints to their Russian overlord.

Sounds like he's definitely off in the summer. Given Chelsea's form that is no surprise, but I'm sure he'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

A brace for the lad? That's twice as many goals as he managed for us in an entire League season.

I blame Phil Brown. :D Jozy came to Hull City pretty young, and quite raw. He hasn't yet developed as much as some hoped, but he has shown real improvement over the last few years. I wish that had worked out better for him. But he's really made an impact with AZ; it was a good move for him and kept him in the frame for the national team. Perhaps he'll play in England again at some point. He's still only 23.

.

He really seems to have had enough. Can't really say i blame him but then i'm reminded how much money he will make and i'm back to not caring.

Chelski continue to show the world what self-entitled brats they are. But thats largely due to their equally ridiculous owner. Essentially its now a club where, as a player, you go there to make north of 170k a week whilst never having to take blame for failures.

And as a manager, you go in, manage for a few months (or the whole season if you're excellent), get fired, pick up a nice severance package and move on.

We wasn't with us during the time of the team talk so we can't blame that at least. :D

I actually started making a reference to that team talk and then thought "hang on, that was 2008".

Fixed that for you. ;)

But it's as you say: the real problem people are not being called to account at Chelsea. People like Benitez and Torres might be underperforming and deserve criticism, but ultimately they are being scapegoated due to a failure on the part of fans to call out the real culprits, because those culprits are untouchable.

Chelsea are flopping this season because of the meddling of Roman Abramovich and a couple of his suits. That's it, pure and simple.

Yep, playing for a struggling side in the Premier League was perhaps a step to far too soon for him. It's good to see him doing well for AZ though, after a spell of moving around Europe hopefully he can get settled for a while.

I looked up the figures for Jozy Altidore, since he moved to AZ.

Season 2011/2012 : 34 games played : 15 goals
Season 2013/2014 : 24 games so far : 18 goals

As for Red Cards he's only had Two so far one in 2011/2012 season, and one this season. So that's getting better.

He's certainly improving, and since his ordeal at Den Bosch in the Beker match he has certainly got the press on his side.:)

I see neither as real competition for a focused Bayern squad. Schalke has its obligatory midlife crisis, you said it yourself about Bremen, Arsenal isn't strong enough either, they will get kicked out of CL 'im hohen Bogen'. Well, Wolfsburg had a hard time winning against Offenbachm, but played well against Bayern, that's true. But of course, all of that is just my opinion.

They aren't bad teams in general, it's more that Bayern is really hungry this year and super focused. I'd like to see them playing Milan, Real or United. Haven't seen Juve this year so far, I guess they are pretty strong, too.
