The 2012 regret my purchase thread.

WiiU, there I said it.

As a long-time gamer and Nintendo fan, the demo unit I tried out before launch felt . . . wrong. I really, really didn't like the fact that a platformer required me to look away from the action and do trivial little things on a different screen. Absolutely broke the deal right there.

And everything I've read about the Wii U since seems negative in some way. Sad times for Nintendo and for gaming.

Here's hoping that Sony and MS deliver.

I am sure there are going to few chuckles out there. Since I got my first Nintendo a wii u, I have been catching up on Wii games so here it comes I regret buying Kirby's yarn. .

As an owner of a Wii U (first console I've owned since the PS2) - I can say it feels very right. I haven't been more delighted and surprised at the gaming experiences on this console than anything I've felt in a while. The Wii U is surprisingly good and I'm looking forward to see it's game library fill out over the next few years.

I really think the Wii U is hard to judge standing up at a demo station, having it at home is really a different experience.

Indeed. If I had to make my purchase decision based on the demo stations, I would have never bought a Wii U. Using the Wii U at home is actually a lot of fun. It's gotten the most use of any of my consoles since it's purchase.

Agreed. Love the slick look of the console, so that it doesn't look odd within an adults living room and the off the screen feature is soo awesome and useful (to me). Could be really a dealbreaker for a game not including it. Use it 70% of the time probably. But I can understand this not being so important for a kind of bachelor man cave scenario ;)

Btt: bought myself Rage and Bioshock 1-2 for steam in 2012 and actually played 1-2h so kind of regret those purchases

As a single guy I still use the off screen play for playing in bed or while watching a movie. It really is an amazing thing that I didn't think I would use as much as I do.

Shouldn't we be using a "The 2013 regret my purchase thread" since we are now 4 months out of 2012? Or possibly change this to a genral "regret my purchase" thread. There's plenty of games that I've purchased prior to 2012 that I certainly regret :(

Let's keep it simple. What did you buy or get in 2012 that you wanted, but turned out to be total rubbish?

1. CS: Go
Didn't buy (or download) a single console game in 2012. Disappointing year.

This year, however, seems to be turning out great and I have already bought several games.
