And of course the cost will be passed on to customers.

The prices of match tickets and TV subscriptions continue to rise faster than the average wage...in parallel with that, policing of copyright infringement is becoming ever more aggressive on the part of media empires.

Reus has reportedly extended his Dortmund contract to 2019. Does that mean there weren't any takers (Barca banned, Real Bale, Bayern no) or is it an example of Gerrard-like loyalty

#echteLiebe (#trueLove) of course ;)

Reports have it that he's getting 10 millions p.a, 8 from Dortmund and 2 from Opel and Puma, their sponsors.

Maybe Barca will make another move next year, interestingly it seems that Dortmund hasn't really learned much from the past, but that remains to be seen......

Mou never hangs around that long...if he wins the league this year he'll probably be around for at least another season, but it will be interesting to see how long Mourinho's second spell at Chelsea lasts. At some point teams will start waving money under his nose again.

Mou's agent is jorge Mendes, same agent as CR7, costa, Falcao and James

just finished watching the game...ohh boy, here we go again, mourinho is starting to act like van gaal. not good. why did he take out cuadrado? its his debut, let him play a whole game. think i might hold off on buying a chelsea jersey...smh

Great result for Liverpool against a hot Spurs team. You just can't keep Harry Kane from scoring, but suddenly Mario Balotelli remembered how to score a goal and that was that.

Man Utd has a very easy schedule for the next month, so I expect them to win their next few matches. But then they face Spurs, Liverpool and Man City in a four week span, with Villa in there somewhere. That should give us an idea of where they really stand.

As for Chelsea - they have unlimited resources, there is simply no excuse for them to lose, regardless of the opponents, the ref, injuries or anything else. The same goes for Man City and at the moment they look anything but convincing in their title defense (plus they are still useless in Europe). Chelsea should stroll this league, anything less would be a shocking choke.

Ibe has looked rely good for Liverpool in the last couple matches. It's always exciting to see a young player show big potential. Rogers took a lot of heat for a lack of product from his signings (including from me), but many of them are coming good - particularly Markovic and Can. Sakho still frightens me every time he takes a touch but he is playing better than I expected.

Don't really know why Moaninho is making a fuss. Evidence is pretty much crystal clear.

The petulant behaviour is becoming cliche. He and LvG are pretty much cringeworthy nowadays.

Not that it matters since FA has chickened out with charging Ivanovic and have instead gone for the safer/generic charge both clubs route

Not quite sure how the ref didn't see the first one! ;)

The only "campaign" that is happening in the Premier League is a cabal of the richest clubs against the several thousand below them in the football pyramid. Any ref bias against Mourinho's team is entirely of his own making because he makes himself insufferable. It's amusing at a distance but gets old really quick when you deal with it weekly.

Watch Mou during any match - he spends half the event in the ear of the fourth official, with Brave John Terry doing the same with the match ref. I've never seen another manager hound referees this persistently. Ferg was just as bad in a different way, but even he didn't complain as much as Mou does.

CoxOrange, hope Mainz loses next weekend just as well ;)
after that, we can talk...
4:2 against Mainz, well... uh, I guess they were already in Carneval-mode :D You know: "Wir sind nur ein Karnevalsverein,..." :D ("we are just a carneval comitee")

(Background for our english readers: the city of Mainz is one of the big Carneval cities in Germany. Also people in Germany call something "a carneval's committee - Karneval's Verein", like an office or officials, provincial politicians, when they are failing in what is expected from them and often act in a sort of clumsy way. (You can also say the German Telecom is a "Karnevals Verein", when they again fail to deliver their services and no one on the phone feels responsible for your case and doesn't know anything). "Verein" means "club", but can also be used to laughingly/disrespectfully talk about a company/office (hence I translated "committee") or in cases where you would shake your head and say "crazy folks" you could say "what a confused Verein". Fans of other clubs were sometime beginning to sing "you are just a carneval's comitee" (where the two meanings Verein=football-club and crazy/disfunctional folks come together with the city and people being known for their Carneval) a season later or so Mainz adopted it as their own song as "we are just a carneval's comitee" as some sort of an inofficial hymn. Mainz fans also invented the "Humba, humba, humba, täterä!!!" song that is sung by several club's fans today (originally it was a song/yell of a carneval comedian.)

Yep, coming from Berlin I don't know jack about Karneval, and honestly can do nothing but smh - same as the infamous Oktoberfest- but take the three points, say thank you very much and move on (hoping nobody touches my tie).

Sheeesh, what a game!

West Ham out of the FA Cup then. Meanwhile Sherwood has taken over at Villa park.

EDIT: Stoke look set to join West Ham

Another useful performance from Balotelli, he may just be rediscovering form at a critical moment for Liverpool, as Sturridge continues to produce. Could be some tasty FA cup ties ahead.

Bradford continue their cup run as well. Sunderland might be terrible right now but Bradford beat them handily. They are going to be a tough team to face in the next round.
