2 clear goals i.e. 2-0 or 3-1 or 4-2

Wait, now I'm confused. Isn't the first tie breaker in group stage goal difference? (I read current GD wrong as positive instead of negative!)

With a 1:0 win they'd both end up with 9 points, but Arsenal would have a 0 GD while Olympiakos would be -5 GD?

I think they use head-to-head rather than GD. Olympiacos won 3-2 at the Emirates, Arsenal need 2 clear goals at least in Greece.

Definitely that way in knockout situations, but not in group stages I

You appear to be correct!

If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings (in descending order):
a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question;
b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question;
c) higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question;
d) higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question;
e) if, after having applied criteria a) to d), two teams still have an equal ranking, criteria a) to d) are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the two teams in question to determine their final rankings. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria f) to h) apply;
f) superior goal difference from all group matches played;
g) higher number of goals scored from all group matches played;
h) higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question, as well as its association, over the previous five seasons (see paragraph 9.02).

Terrible result. Stopped watching the game around the 60 minute mark.

We now have to win away vs. Wolfsburg, probably the hardest fixture in this group. I still believe it can be done, but if we play like this we are going to get mauled.

And we are playing just 2 days later vs. top of the league Leicester.

Looks like you got your answer already. :)

If Olympiacos score, Arsenal will need three. And Olympiacos just need a draw or a low scoring one-goal loss...it's a tall order for the Gunners.

Yes, I did. 2 clear goals :)

Wonder whom it is tougher at this point: Arsenal or United :|

Not a great day for the Mancunians; both Man City and Man Utd had chances but couldn't finish them, and both were kept at arm's length for long stretches.

City once again paid for a Dimichelis mistake, and Aguero still not fully fit. Sterling missed a sitter.

Man Utd just didn't have a finish in them today. PSV's tactical switch to three center backs seemed to limit their opponent even more in he second half.

Credit to both Juventus and PSV though, neither team was intimidated by the big money squads they faced.

And LvG agrees with you!

They can win anywhere apparently, and their away record is better than last season, so the game away to PSV is 3 points in the bag then!

Liverpool did what they had to do. Good goal by Benteke.

Mignolet is a bonehead, though to be fair it's rare for a ref to penalize keepers for holding on to the ball to long. Still, given that Toure and Lovren were holding down the defense, giving up one goal on a freekick isn't so bad.

Seems Sturridge is made out of cardboard. If he so much as breathes he gets injured.

Sturridge has always been fragile - mentally and physically. After his breakout season for Liverpool I had hopes that he was getting past some of that, but it hasn't been the case. I think he fed off Suarez in a positive way, and once Luis left he lost that spark. Still, when he's on the pitch, he scores goals.

Klopp has thrown out some lightly veiled criticisms of Sturridge on this very subject. "Play through the pain," is the message from Jurgen.

Sounds like Klopp is looking past Mignolet and Sturridge in general.
Liverpool squad needs a bit of an overhaul if they are to try and consistently fight for top4.. This year with Chelsea's performance, the 4th place trophy is still up for grabs.. Unless someone else implodes next season, it will most likely be Man Utd, City, Arsenal and Chelsea for the top 4 (in any order)
Liverpool have a tough battle ahead.

Man City and Chelsea have virtually unlimited resources. Man Utd has the most revenue of any team in England by miles. They can buy whomever they want. No excuses for any of them to ever fall out of the top four. Arsenal are sort of a special case, but they've been able to over-perform (in terms of league place versus spending) for years. And they still have lots of money.

Chelsea should be out of the top four this season unless Liverpool and Spurs both implode. Leicester doesn't have the squad to go the distance, but Liverpool/Spurs have a tough job ahead trying to make that final CL spot.

Arsenal slowly but surely limping out o contention.

Funny how Ozil is their best player right now.

How are they limping out exactly? They are 2 points off the top of the table and we're just finishing up with November.

(Although, I will agree that this year the title is City's to lose)

Liverpool grind out a win...normally I would be complaining about the sloppiness of the performance, but given that it comes on the heels of a Europa League Thursday I can't be too upset. teams rarely sparkle in such circumstances. Sturridge and Henderson back on the pitch as well. Liverpool missed Coutinho.

Arsenal - losing Sanchez is far more irritating than the match result.
